Finding the best registered agent Washington has to offer is vital to the success of your Washington LLC or corporation.
The right Washington registered agent will keep your information safe and off the public record and protect you and your business from unknown lawsuits.
The wrong Washington registered agent will be careless with your information, which could lead to identity theft or attacks from cybercriminals, and open you up to losing everything you’ve worked so hard to achieve.
I’ve thoroughly researched more than 60 different registered agents in the state of Washington, ranked the top 12, then wrote exhaustive reviews of the top 3. Here are my suggestions for the best registered agent in Washington:
1. Northwest Registered Agent — 9.13/10 (My Top Pick)
The reason Northwest Registered Agent tops my list of best registered agent services in Washington is because they provide more than the services a registered agent must provide, offering up some luxury services and industry-leading customer service.
Pros
You’ll find a lot of reasons to like Northwest Registered Agent.
They provide your business in Washington with all the registered agent services you need. They offer a physical street address in the state of Washington to use as the business address for your LLC or corporation, which keeps your personal information off the public record. They accept service of process, mail, and documents on behalf of your business entity, and forward your mail.
They also offer several extras. They provide compliance alerts or annual report reminders, scan every document, service of process, and piece of mail, and then upload them to an online portal for you to access 24/7 with an online account.
Another perk to using Northwest Registered Agent’s services is they’re also an LLC formation service, which means they can collect and file all the formation documents for your company (such as the Certificate of Formation) to form your LLC and establish it with the Secretary of State.
Northwest Registered Agent is a national registered agent with an office address in every state. This means that if you choose them as the registered agent for your LLC or corporation, they can support your company if it grows beyond the state of Washington to another state. They also offer discount rates if you pay for registered agent service for multiple states.
Their customer service is their best feature by far.
Most noncommercial and commercial registered agent services have customer service teams that provide mediocre service. They’ll take forever to respond to you fail to provide you with a solution to your problem, causing you to call back multiple times. But Northwest Registered Agent’s customer service team sets the bar high. They listen to your question or problem carefully to make sure they understand before they offer suggestions or solutions.
Of course, Northwest Registered Agent’s customer service team will answer questions about their registered agent service, their online system, or your online account, as well as helping with technical issues. But they also answer any business question you have regarding your limited liability company (LLC) or corporation. Their customer service team is made up of a US-based group of former accountants, lawyers, entrepreneurs, and business owners whose experience in the business industry equips them with the knowledge needed to provide you with expert business advice.
This sort of business advice can cost upwards of $5,000 annually, so the fact that you get lifelong access to their customer service for only $125* is clearly a great value.
Cons
There’s only one negative thing that can be said about Northwest Registered Agent’s excellent Washington registered agent service, and oddly enough it’s in regard to their best feature: their customer service.
Their comprehensive approach to customer service can be a pain when you’re in a hurry. There were a couple of times when they asked more questions than I could reasonably answer in the short period of time I’d allotted to spend on a customer service call, which means I didn’t get resolution to my question or technical issue in one call. When you want a quick answer to a simple question, it’s better to just Google your inquiry because the way their customer service is set up, there’s no way to quickly resolve your problem and return to your workday.
This is a small knock against Northwest Registered Agent. Their registered agent service is highly rated and their customer service is something you’ll truly appreciate in most situations.
Overall
Northwest Registered Agent provides your limited liability company (LLC), corporation, or business in Washington with all the services it needs to remain in good standing with the Washington Secretary of State for only $125.
Lifelong access to their customer service team and business advice clearly makes them the best registered agent in Washington.
If you need a commercial registered agent that will go beyond maintaining the good standing status of your LLC or corporation, provide annual report reminders, industry-leading customer service, and business support, sign up for Northwest Registered Agent today.
*All prices are per state, per year.
2. Harbor Compliance — 7.92/10 (Best Budget Registered Agent)
If you need a registered agent service that charges less, or you want a Washington registered agent service that provides basic services with none of the extras, Harbor Compliance is a good second choice because they charge $99 for basic registered agent services.
Pros
For $99, Harbor Compliance offers all the registered agent services that your limited liability company (LLC) or Washington corporation needs to stay in good legal standing with the Washington Secretary of State’s office.
You’ll get a physical street address in Washington where someone is available during normal business hours to receive service of process, legal documents, and mail for your LLC or business entity, compliance alerts to let you know about important filing deadlines (like filing your annual report) so that your company will maintain good legal standing with the Washington Secretary of State, they scan all your legal documents and service of process and upload them to an online portal system for you to access with an online account, email address, and mail forwarding.
Beyond basic registered agent services, Harbor Compliance is also an LLC formation service. This means that they can gather and file all the formation documents (like the Certificate of Formation) to form your LLC legally with the Secretary of State and keep your information off the public record.
They’re also a national registered agent. This means that they will provide your company with their registered agent’s name and address no matter how far your business expands beyond the state of Washington. They also offer discount rates if you sign up for registered agent service for multiple states or for multiple years.
Cons
There’s only one drawback to Harbor Compliance’s Washington registered agent service, but it’s a significant one. While Harbor Compliance’s services are good, none of them are exceptional.
They provide every service that a registered agent must to keep your company compliant with the Washington Secretary of State, but they don’t offer any “extras” or premium services. Their online portal system is relatively easy to use and navigate, but it has some glitches, and the layout could be tweaked to make it more user-friendly.
While their customer service team will sufficiently answer any question you may have about their registered agent service, their online system or any technical issues you may encounter, they certainly won’t answer business questions about your LLC like Northwest Registered Agent will.
Harbor Compliance's registered agent services are good, but they aren’t great.
Overall
Harbor Compliance is a good choice if you want basic registered agent service for your company at a budget price. They provide all the necessary registered agent services for your Washington LLC for $99.
If you’re looking for a budget registered agent service in Washington for your business or LLC and are satisfied with passing up Northwest Registered Agent’s excellent services to save a measly $26, you can check out Harbor Compliance here.
3. LegalZoom — 6.59/10 (Best Premium Service)
LegalZoom may be #3 on my list of best Washington state registered agents, but if this were a list of the best premium Washington registered agent services it would take first place.
Pros
Choosing LegalZoom as the registered agent for your Washington LLC or business, it means you’re partnered with a big company. They’re well known throughout the business industry and they have a reputation for carrying out any guarantees they make. They’ve been in business for a long time, and they’re likely to be in business for years to come.
They provide all the basic services that a registered agent must, such as a street address in Washington to use as the point of contact for your company, someone who is available during normal business hours to receive service of process, legal documents, and mail on behalf of your Washington business or LLC, and mail forwarding.
They offer a few registered agent service extras, as well. They scan every service of process and legal document and upload them to an online portal for you to access with an online account and email address. They provide compliance filing alerts so that you won’t miss filing deadlines for documents like the annual report for your Washington state LLC and land yourself in legal hot water with the Secretary of State.
They also provide LLC formation services that can help you file the Certificate of Formation, as well as other formation documents to help you form and establish your LLC with the Secretary of State.
On top of all these registered agent services, they also offer up to $1,000,000 identity theft insurance for your Washington business. This sort of online protection provides peace of mind to many business owners in this technology-driven world.
Cons
It’s pretty obvious that LegalZoom uses its popularity and name recognition to attract new customers, rather than providing quality registered agent services.
Their main business services consist of online legal services and templated legal documents for business use. Because of this, they neglect their Washington registered agent service and it doesn’t get the attention it needs. Their online system is clunky and full of glitches, and their customer service team isn’t as knowledgeable about their Washington registered agent service as one would like them to be.
They charge $299 per state annually for their premium registered agent service, and it’s easy to assume that the extra expense is for the identity theft insurance and covering the state fees for changing registered agent services. However, there’s a $176 difference between their fee and Northwest Registered Agent’s, and identity theft protection from a third party typically doesn’t cost that much.
There aren’t any state fees for changing registered agent services that are that expensive in the state of Washington, either. So you could easily choose Northwest Registered Agent’s registered agent service for your company, purchase identity theft insurance, cover any filing fee the Secretary of State charges your LLC for changing registered agent services, and save some money.
Overall
LegalZoom is a good choice if you want a registered agent service in Washington that provides premium services for your company. While their price is steep, they may be a good choice if you’re already using their other business services and want to consolidate invoices.
If you’re looking for a premium registered agent service you can read about LegalZoom’s registered agent service in Washington here.
4. ZenBusiness
ZenBusiness is primarily an LLC formation service that is also a registered agent in Washington, so they provide multiple business services. However, for some reason they charge a premium price for their registered agent service, which makes it confusing.
For $199 per state annually they provide some pretty basic registered agent service offerings. They will provide your Washington LLC or company with a street address in Washington where someone will be available during normal business hours to accept service of process and documents on behalf of your business, allow you to access your documents and service of process on their online system using an online account and email address, and provide mail forwarding. They also provide worry-free compliance alerts that remind you when it's time to file your annual reports.
But what's strange is that Northwest provides the same level of services (including more comprehensive options) at a much cheaper rate.
This is probably due to the fact that their primary business services are LLC formation services, which means they’ll file the Certificate of Formation for your LLC. Regardless of their reasoning behind charging such a steep rate and having such a confusing pricing system, there’s really no excuse for it. You can get all the same services from Northwest Registered Agent for less.
You can read about their services in my ZenBusiness review.
5. IncFile
IncFile is a registered agent in Washington that provides only minimal registered agent services.
They will of course provide your Washington business, company, or LLC with a street address in the state of Washington, accept service of process and documents for your LLC during normal business hours, and forward the mail to your business.
But beyond that, the only service they provide is uploading your service of process and documents to their online system for you to access with an email address and online account. Considering that they charge $119 per year for these scant services, I can’t highly recommend them.

6. Rocket Lawyer
Rocket Lawyer is an online legal services company and a registered agent in Washington that seems to be a cheap imitation of LegalZoom that isn’t much cheaper.
They will provide your LLC, business, or company with a street address, and serve as your point of contact since the state of Washington requires someone be available during normal business hours to receive service of process and documents for your business, scan and upload the service of process and documents to an online system for you to access with an online account and email address, and forward your mail.
The problem is that they charge $149 for these meager registered agent service offerings, and there aren’t even compliance filing alerts (for annual reports) or premium registered agent services for that price, so I can’t recommend them as the best registered agent service.
You can click here to read more about Rocket Lawyer if you want to pay premium registered agent prices without actually receiving any premium registered agent services.
7. Sundoc Filings
If you’re looking for a registered agent in Washington and come across Sundoc Filings’s name, it’s best to keep looking.
While this Washington registered agent will provide all the service offerings the state of Washington requires for your business entity, company, or LLC, you won’t find any services that feel like quality enhancements.
They offer a Washington State street address to list as the point of contact for your LLC or business, someone will accept service of process and documents for your company during business hours, they upload your service of process and documents to an online portal for you to access with an email address and online account, and they forward the mail to your business.
They charge $159 and you won’t even receive compliance filing alerts for your annual reports.

8. InCorp
InCorp is a company that provided me with some confusion when it came to rating it as a registered agent in Washington. They charge $99 for their Washington registered agent service, which is the same price as my budget registered agent option, Harbor Compliance. They even have similar registered agent service offerings when compared with Harbor Compliance.
As your Washington registered agent service, they provide your LLC, business or company with a physical address in the state where a registered agent is available to accept service of process and documents on behalf of your company during business hours, scan and upload them to an online system that you can access with an email address and online account, issue compliance filing alerts so that you won’t forget to file the annual reports for your business, and forward your mail.
They’re a national registered agent with an address in every state, and they provide discounts if you sign up for registered agent service for multiple states or for multiple years. They even provide identity theft for your Washington LLC or business.
The reason they’re so far down this list is their online system. This system is so clunky and hard to navigate that it’s practically user-UNfriendly. For this reason I can’t recommend them highly as your Washington registered agent for your Washington state business.
For more information about InCorp click here.
9. Swyft Filings
Swyft Filings is a registered agent in Washington that falls into the same category as the majority of the agents on this list who charge high rates for mediocre service offerings.
You’ll get an essential physical address in the state of Washington that your Washington LLC, company or business needs, as well as someone to receive mail on behalf of your company, document scanning, an online system for you to access your mail and documents with an online account and email address, compliance filing alerts to remind you of important filing deadlines (such as annual report filing), and mail forwarding.
But for these basic services they charge $149. This is nearly $25 moe per year than Northwest Registered Agent’s fee, and Swyft Filings doesn’t offer the same quality of service.
Read more about Swyft Filings here.
10. CSC Global
CSC Global is a premium registered agent in Washington. You’ll understand why I refer to them as a “premium” Washington registered agent service momentarily.
For $149 they offer the basic registered agent services, such as a Washington State address for your LLC, business, or company, accepting mail on behalf of your business entity, and scanning your mail and documents, as well as an online system for you to access the mail and documents for your business with an email address and online account.
However, the only premium service they offer is covering any state fees your LLC is charged when you file the form to change your current Washington registered agent service to CSC Global’s. But there isn’t a filing fee in Washington for changing registered agent service that costs that much, so CSC Global isn’t worth your time.
Click here for more information about CSC Global.
11. Registered Agents Inc.
Registered Agents Inc. presented me with an interesting conundrum when reviewing it as a registered agent in Washington. It’s the only registered agent in Washington that specializes in registered agent service.
Among their service offerings are several services typical of a registered agent service company in Washington, such as a Washington state address, accepting mail on behalf of your Washington LLC or business, scanning your mail and legal documents and uploading them to an online portal for you to access with an online account and email address, compliance filing alerts to remind you about filing the annual reports for your LLC, and mail forwarding.
They’re also a national registered agent with an office address in each state, so they can provide registered agent service to your LLC if it grows beyond the state of Washington. And they offer discounts on registered agent service if you sign up for service in multiple states.
The drawback is that they charge $200 for their services, and there’s really not anything in their registered agent service offerings that justifies this price. There aren’t any premium registered agent services and they don’t offer LLC formation services to help you draft and file the Certificate of Formation for your LLC.
Click here to read about Registered Agents Inc.
12. Jumpstart Filings
Jumpstart Filings is another registered agent in Washington that charges too much for minimal registered agent service offerings.
For $129 they’ll provide your LLC or Washington business with an address in the state, and upload your mail to an online system for you to access with an online account. But they don’t offer compliance filing alerts to remind you to file the annual report for your LLC or business, LLC formation service to help draft and file the Certificate of Formation for your LLC, and they don’t even provide mail forwarding for this price.
They charge $4 more than Northwest Registered Agent and don’t provide half the amount of services or the quality of Northwest’s Washington registered agent service.
Registered Agent Review Summary
Of the 60+ Washington registered agents I investigated and the top 12 I reviewed, it’s clear that the best overall Washington registered agent service is Northwest Registered Agent.
They provide every service your business needs to succeed and offer several luxury features that will make your business operate smoothly and efficiently. Northwest Registered Agent provides their services for $125, and with their compliance alert system and expert customer service, this is a respectable value.
Northwest Registered Agent may not include premium options like free identity theft protection, but they do offer the best customer service I’ve ever had.

Best Registered Agent Review Methodology
I used a four-stage, five-factor process when investigating which was the best registered agent service in Washington.
Why You Should Trust Me
My process for finding the best Washington registered agent is trustworthy because I’ve had to use it to find registered agents for both of the businesses I own.
When I was looking for my own registered agent, there weren’t any reliable reviews or trustworthy guides available to aid my search. This meant I had to invest hundreds of hours into my own research if I wanted to find the right registered agent for my businesses. I didn’t want to take on the burden of government bureaucracy or deal with the Secretary of State’s office myself either, so this further reinforced the need for my investigation and review.
I’ve also used this process to help many of my close friends and family find registered agents for their businesses as well, so my process doesn’t solely benefit me.
The amount of promotional material and advertising hot air that saturated my investigations also showcased a dire need for a guide like mine if someone needed to find the right registered agent for themself.
Since launching my website, I’ve been able to help thousands of people just like you find the perfect registered agent for their business needs. Many people have been able to save themselves hundreds of hours of research through my website, and I can help you avoid that too.
How I Selected the Best Registered Agent
The following four stages allowed me to determine which of the 60+ registered agents I investigated were the best in Washington.
Stage 1: Reviews
My investigations began with reading online reviews for each registered agent business.
These reviews would allow me to see what other customers had to say about each Washington registered agent. The only drawback to online reviews is that they often only detail the extreme situations customers encounter.
I spent hours on review sites like TrustPilot, Google, the Better Business Bureau, Facebook, and various others to see what people were saying about each registered agent. This brought my attention to an unsettlingly common business practice that I found to be highly unethical (more on that below).
Even though these reviews were often polarized, this allowed me to get an initial impression of which registered agents were worth using for your business or LLC.
Stage 2: Website Analysis
Once I had eliminated the scams and bad deals, the next stage of the process was to log on to each Washington registered agent service’s business website and review their offerings and promotions, their about pages, and their customer support channels to see what features were available from each subscription.
This process allowed me to form a 13 column by 24 row spreadsheet that I used to break each registered agent business down to their most basic offerings and features.
Stage 3: Speaking with Real Customers
My spreadsheet helped me compare the services of each registered agent in Washington and the reviews helped me narrow my list, but to see the entire customer service picture I would have to reach out to other customers more directly.
As previously stated, online business reviews are often polarized. They only allow you to see the best and worst case scenarios. In order to get a better idea of what the average customer’s experience was with each registered agent in Washington, I had to contact several people whom I had previously helped find registered agents.
This part was simple, but it allowed me to see who was satisfied with their choices and helped me get a much more well-rounded picture of what the customer service experience for an LLC was for each registered agent service.
Stage 4: Speaking with Their Sales Teams
The final stage of my process was to speak to the sales team for each registered agent in Washington.
Even though sales teams are notorious for exaggerating features and showing clear bias when talking about their company, they can also provide valuable insight in company culture if you know the right questions to ask. When I spoke with sales agents for each registered agent service, I made sure to voice some of the most common criticisms of each service and took note of how they responded.
This allowed me to gain valuable insight of what each registered agent’s company culture was like. I was able to discern which registered agent services valued improvement and their customers so they could provide quality services for your LLC, and which were only concerned about their bottom line and blamed others for their shortcomings.
- Montana Registered Agent
- Wyoming Registered Agent
- Colorado Registered Agent
- New Mexico Registered Agent
- Arizona Registered Agent
- Utah Registered Agent
- Idaho Registered Agent
- Washington Registered Agent
- Oregon Registered Agent
- California Registered Agent
- Nevada Registered Agent
- Alaska Registered Agent
- Hawaii Registered Agent
Rating Factors
After eliminating nearly 50 Washington registered agents during my investigation, I was left with a rough version of my list. I used the following five factors to determine which Washington registered agents were the best for your Washington LLC.
Factor 1: Offerings
The variety of features and offers available when it comes to registered agent services can be overwhelming.
Some services only offer basic services, such as mail forwarding and acting as your legal point of contact to keep your personal information (like your name and address) off the public record. Others provide an online document repository, will scan and upload your documents the same day they are received, and offer compliance alerts to ensure you never miss another important filing date for your LLC.
Some other services offer premium features like identity theft insurance, giving you some peace of mind when it comes to cybercrime. Some even offer cheaper LLC formation services, which could be a big plus.
With so many services and offers available, it’s easy to see why ranking each registered agent according to the services they offer is important.
Factor 2: Value for Money
Services offered aren’t all you need to consider. With such a saturated market, it was also important to rank each Washington registered agent according to the value they provide to your business.
Some commercial registered agent services only offer basic services like keeping your name and address off the public record, but charge prices in the $299 range (the same as many premium registered agents). Others advertise prices as low as $39 per year, but leave the price for the full range of services and features vague or unclear.
During this part of the process, I discovered a large number of Washington registered agents charging prices in the $39-$59 range using this kind of vague marketing language. Upon further investigation, I discovered that the price listed didn’t include some of the most essential services that you need from a registered agent. To get some of the most basic level of services (like compliance alerts) from these companies, they charge additional fees that could cost you as much as an additional $120 per year.
This kind of pricing technique is something I find to be highly unethical, and any registered agent that was found using this practice was removed from my list.
Factor 3: Ease of Sign-up
Few things are more frustrating than mistakenly thinking you’ve found the right registered agent for your business, only to waste time with a complicated or difficult sign-up process.
To help you avoid getting caught in a lengthy or frustrating onboarding process, I checked out the sign-ups for each registered agent and ranked them according to their complexity. Services with longer forms, processing times, or requirements for obscure documents and information ranked lower on my list, while those with simple, automated, and efficient sign-up processes ranked higher.
Factor 4: Ease of Use
The sign-up process shouldn’t be the only thing that’s easy. You also need an easy-to-use, user-friendly online system from your registered agent.
Poorly optimized and glitchy systems can often make you want to throw your computer off a cliff. To save you time and frustration, I tested out each registered agent system and took note of how intuitive or difficult and infuriating they were to use.
In this modern, technology-driven business world, it was important to rank each registered agent by how user-friendly their systems were.
Factor 5: Customer Service
The real deal-breaker for many people is the quality of customer service and support.
A bad customer service team can drive customers away from the best registered agent deals. To ensure you don’t waste time with frustrating or inefficient customer service, I called each customer service team and ran them through some industry-standard questions and technical issue scenarios to test their service mettle. This allowed me to see which teams were polite, courteous, and efficient and which teams were slow, rude, or otherwise frustrating to deal with.
The Best Washington Registered Agent Results Summary
I’ve investigated more than 60 different registered agents in the state of Washington and reviewed the top twelve. The following are my top three picks for the best Washington registered agent.
Best Overall Registered Agent — Northwest Registered Agent (9.13/10)
Northwest Registered Agent is my top pick for best registered agent for your business in Washington.
They’ll provide every possible service you’ll need to keep your business in compliance with the laws enforced by the Washington Secretary of State and also keep your personal details (like your name and address) off the public record. And they charge a fair price of only $125.
They’ll cover all the basics. You’ll have a registered address to receive service of process, and receive legal documents on behalf of your business. They also go above and beyond, offering a compliance alert system and same-day document scanning to make sure you never miss an important document.
However, the real deal maker is their expert customer service.
Northwest Registered Agent’s customer service team is composed of former lawyers, accountants, small business owners, and entrepreneurs and is available anytime you run into an obstacle or issue regarding your business operations to answer your business inquiries. They provide expert business advice that can cost as much as $5,000 per day from other providers. But Northwest Registered Agent includes lifelong access to this amazing customer service team with their registered agent service.
With over 3,000 positive Northwest Registered Agent reviews, you can easily determine that my experience isn’t merely a fluke.
If you need a commercial registered agent that raises the bar and sets new quality standards for the registered agent industry, then check out Northwest Registered Agent today.
Best Budget Registered Agent — Harbor Compliance (7.92/10)
If you’re working with a limited budget or need to reduce costs for your LLC or other business, then Harbor Compliance is the Washington registered agent for you.
Although they lack several of the extra features and expert customer service team of Northwest Registered Agent, Harbor Compliance does offer adequate service that will tick all the boxes for only $99.
Their online document system is user-friendly, their customer service team is adequate, and they have some decent reviews, but unfortunately, nothing from Harbor Compliance really excels the way Northwest Registered Agent does.
And even though it's one of the cheapest services, there are hundreds of positive Harbor Compliance reviews online to prove what I'm trying to say here.
If you need to save money and are okay with sacrificing the extra features and quality of Northwest Registered Agent, then Harbor Compliance is the best option for you.
Best Premium Registered Agent — LegalZoom (6.59/10)
If you need to have a premium registered agent service and are comfortable paying the higher rate, then LegalZoom is the best registered agent in that category.
For $299 per year, LegalZoom will cover all the registered agent necessities for your LLC and provide you with a somewhat midgrade customer service team. Included in this price is a $1 million identity theft insurance policy, granting you some peace of mind when it comes to keeping your personal information secure.
Considering that you can often find comparable identity theft protection plans for less than the $176 price difference between LegalZoom and Northwest Registered Agent, it may only be worthwhile to use LegalZoom if you’re also subscribed to their online legal services and want to keep your expenses on the same account.
If you need the included identity theft insurance or already use LegalZoom’s other subscription services, then LegalZoom is the best premium registered agent I can recommend for you.
In Conclusion
Finding the right registered agent for your business in Washington is critical to ensuring the success of your business ventures. The wrong service can land you in legal trouble and even cost you your business.
After investigating over 60 Washington registered agents and reviewing the top twelve, it’s become clear that Northwest Registered Agent is the best overall choice and my top recommendation for your business’s registered agent service.
