Getting the best registered agent for your Wyoming business is vital to your business success.
The right Wyoming registered agent service will protect your privacy and assets, while ensuring your company meets its liegal requirements and stays in compliance with the Wyoming Secretary of State's office.
The wrong Wyoming registered agent service will leave you exposed to unnecessary risk, with your personal details available for scammers to exploit, your personal assets at risk if someone chooses to take legal action against you, and your company at risk by missing important compliance requirements.
To ensure you’re safe and protected, I’ve assessed all 410 registered agents in Wyoming, researched the top 64, reviewed the top 12, and narrowed my recommendations down to the top 3.
Here are the results of my investigation into the best registered agent in Wyoming:
1. Northwest Registered Agent Review — 9.13/10 (Best Overall Registered Agent Service)
The best overall registered agent service is Northwest Registered Agent because not only do they provide the best value for money on the market, but they also provide industry-leading small business advice from experienced professionals as part of their basic package.
Pros
Northwest Registered Agent is not only a full-service agent option that can help with Limited Liability Company (LLC) formation process, they go above and beyond the other services on the market. It starts with the basics you need from a Wyoming registered agent:
- Providing you with a Wyoming business address or registered office in Wyoming
- Scanning all your important documents, including service of process
- Setting you up with online access to all your documents, provide mail forwarding
- Notifying you in advance about compliance deadlines making sure your Wyoming LLC or corporation is in good standing with the Wyoming Secretary of State
They even provide the best LLC services in Wyoming.
The sign-up process is quick and painless, and they provide their agent services in multiple states, which is great if you aspire to grow your business beyond the state of Wyoming.
Their system is really easy to use. It was designed for those who aren’t tech-savvy and it allows you to manage registration for several different states at once within the same portal, which is a feature that’s not seen with many other registered agents in Wyoming.
But the real separator is their customer support.
Most companies farm their customer support to poorly trained, third-party call centers in foreign countries with no practical experience in the matters in which they're trying to assist.
Northwest Registered Agent is the opposite. Their US-based, in-house team of former accountants, lawyers, small business owners, and entrepreneurs have not only guided thousands of people down the very same path you're about to embark on, they will also happily share the knowledge and experiences of the small business world with you.
This level of small business advice and support normally costs thousands per year (or even equity in your company) so their $125 per state, per year price represents incredible value.
Cons
The downside with Northwest Registered Agent is, funnily enough, the same as their upside: their customer support.
Their support team is so dedicated to giving you precise and actionable advice related to your specific business issue or challenge that there are some situations whereby you just want a quick answer, but they just keep asking more questions.
Now, the answer these questions lead to is often far better than what you would get without those questions, but it can cause some frustration if you're in a real hurry.
Overall
Northwest Registered Agent is my #1 recommendation because they provide incredible value. Not only do they provide everything you need from a registered agent in Wyoming, such as a physical street address in Wyoming, a statutory agent available during normal business hours to accept all mail, and a mail forwarding service, but their customer support is remarkable.
Their in-house team of former lawyers, accountants, small business owners, and entrepreneurs will not only help with your registered agent-related questions, but will also share their lessons and experiences to help you overcome the challenges you face building your new Wyoming business.
If you're looking for a Wyoming registered agent that will not only make sure you meet your legal obligations but will also provide support and guidance to help you achieve your goals, head to Northwest Registered Agent now.
2. Harbor Compliance Review — 7.92/10 (Best Budget Service)
Harbor Compliance is #2 on my list because they provide all the basics you need at the best price.
Pros
Harbor Compliance is another full-service registered agent option that will also assist with LLC formation. They offer mail forwarding, online access to your legal documents, including service of process, notifications for compliance deadlines, and a physical street address in Wyoming with a statutory agent available during normal business hours to receive all official correspondence from the Wyoming Secretary of State.
Their setup process isn’t hard to navigate, and you can set up registration for more than one state pretty easily and, then there's the price. At $99 per state, per year, they're the cheapest full-service registered agent on the market.
Cons
The drawback with Harbor Compliance is that while they do everything you need, they don't go above and beyond.
They tick every box you need with a Wyoming registered agent but nothing more. Their support team will answer all your registered agent-related questions, but nothing else. They do what you need but don't provide anything additional.
Overall
If you don't want the kind of small business and advice available with Northwest Registered Agent and are desperate to save $26 per year, Harbor Compliance is a good option.
They provide everything you need at a discount rate, meaning you end up with more money in your pocket.
If you want to know more about Harbor Compliance, you can read more on their website.
3. LegalZoom — 6.59/10 (Best Premium RA)
LegalZoom is the best of the premium options, a category of registered agents that provide a full list of features served up with well-known names.
Pros
They provide both full-service and premium services, so you get mail forwarding, service of process, notifications of compliance deadlines, a registered office address, and access to your documents online, as well as up to $1 million in identity theft protection.
Cons
There are two pretty significant drawbacks to LegalZoom.
The first is their price. They charge $299 per year, which is $200 more than you would pay for Harbor Compliance. It’s not worth that just for the added identity theft protection because it can be purchased elsewhere for far less.
The second drawback is that registered agent services are actually a very small portion of what the company provides, so it’s not the focus of their business. Their system is pretty hard to use compared with both Northwest Registered Agent and Harbor Compliance, and their customer service is nowhere near as efficient as them, either.
Overall
Despite their drawbacks, LegalZoom is a reputable company, so it might be worth it to use them if you’re already using some of their other services. Otherwise, it’s probably better to go with either Harbor Compliance or Northwest Registered Agent.
Here are the other nine services I analyzed:
4. ZenBusiness
ZenBusiness is an LLC formation service that offers everything you want from a registered agent like a registered office in Wyoming, but for some reason, their basic registered agent service is quite costly.
The Pro Package is $199 and includes everything provided by Northwest Registered Agent (including service of process), and annual report compliance alerts.
This high price is probably because their primary focus is on LLC formation services, rather than registered agent services, so they haven’t fully optimized their offering. But regardless of the reason, they’re still more expensive than Northwest Registered Agent and don’t offer the same level of support available.
If you want to know more about their services, read my ZenBusiness review.
5. IncFile
IncFile is an LLC service that provides the bare minimum in terms of service. They charge $119 per year, but you don’t get compliance notifications. So you’re getting fewer services for a higher price.
Just like ZenBusiness, they offer free registered agent services for a year, but you’re still paying more for base-level services like mail forwarding and a registered office.
6. Rocket Lawyer
Rocket Lawyer is a cheaper version of LegalZoom, which means their registered agent and LLC formation aren’t their primary services. They charge $149 per year for their extremely basic services, like a registered office, and their customer service is definitely not as good as what you hope for.
If you want to know more about their online legal services and offerings read my Rocket Lawyer review.
7. SunDoc Filings
SunDoc Filings is an LLC formation and Wyoming registered agent service that provides you with low-level services, like a registered office, and they charge $159 per year for their subpar service.
8. InCorp
InCorp seems like a good LLC formation and registered agent service at first, if you look at their $99 per year price tag.
But their system is so frustrating to use that you’ll be on the phone with customer support a lot. Also, their customer support isn’t good enough to justify using such a clunky system just to get an office address.
9. Swyft Filings
Swyft Filings registered agent service does provide some important services, like compliance notifications and mail forwarding, but they charge $149 per year.
You can get more details about their products and services in my Swyft Filings review.
10. CSC Global
CSC Global is the second premium registered agent service, but this is really only demonstrated by their high price, not their services. They pay any state fees associated with switching to their service but charge you $299 per year. You could pay Harbor Compliance’s fees and then pay the state’s fees on your own for less.
11. Registered Agents Inc.
Registered Agents Inc. provides the same registered agent services as Harbor Compliance, but they charge $200 compared with Harbor Compliance’s $99.
12. Jumpstart Filings
Jumpstart Filings offers the bare minimum when it comes to LLC formation and registered agent services, but they charge $129/year.
It’s also worth noting that they don’t offer free registered agent services when you sign up for their LLC formation services.
Best Registered Agent Review Methodology
Here is how I determined the best registered agent service in Wyoming.
Why You Should Trust Me
I’ve spent more time researching and interacting with Wyoming registered agent services than almost anyone else in the industry.
I started out looking for registered agents for my two businesses—a health website and a cafe. I eventually sold both of those businesses, after which I was looking for a new venture. I noticed that my friends started asking me about how to find a good registered agent in Wyoming. The advice I gave them gradually turned into my new business venture, and now I’m using the same advice about how to find a registered agent in Wyoming to help you!
How I Selected the Best Registered Agent in Wyoming
This was a gradual process that started with a Wyoming registered agent list of 64, which is an insane amount of registered agents. From there, I narrowed the list down to 12, and then narrowed it even further to the top 3 Wyoming registered agent services.
Stage 1: Online Feedback
First, I looked at online reviews about all the Wyoming registered agents. There’s actually a surprising abundance of online reviews for Wyoming registered agents when you look at feedback from the Better Business Bureau, TrustPilot, and any other website where customers can weigh in.
There’s no way I could read every last review that was posted. That would have taken years! But I did read reviews with more than a couple of paragraphs’ worth of information and that allowed me to separate legitimate Wyoming registered agent services from obvious scams.
Stage 2: Website Review
After I eliminated all the Wyoming registered agents that provided low-level and subpar services based on customer reviews, I took an analytical look at the remaining registered agents' websites.
We judged them based on a variety of criteria:
- The variety of services or products they offered
- How many different methods they provided for contacting their customer service
- The company’s history
- What awards they’d won and any other information they provided on their sites
This information painted a picture about the company and what sort of services they offer.
Stage 3: Speaking with Real Customers
Online reviews are a great place to start when you’re trying to get a grasp of the type of service of registered agents in Wyoming. But to get more details, you really need to talk to actual customers and ask questions, not just read a static review.
How did I find these customers? I asked people who followed recommendations from my website or people I knew were using a Wyoming registered agent.
These customers allowed me to ask questions to get an idea about how satisfied they were with the services, as well as what sort of customer support and services they provided without having to rely solely on what they advertised on their website.
Stage 4: Speaking with Their Sales Teams
The final step was to call up their sales team and talk to someone. I gathered up all the bad reviews and complaints I’d seen on review websites and then challenged them to respond to them. You can find out a lot about a Wyoming registered agent by how their sales team answers these tough questions, and what they say in their sales pitches.
This helped me determine whether or not the company was actually growing. Some of the Wyoming registered agents I spoke to suggested that the customers who wrote the reviews were just “crazy” and that I shouldn’t pay their stories any attention. But many of the more high-quality registered agents in Wyoming actually admitted that they knew about the complaints and had used the feedback to fix the problem or create a new service, so that it actually wasn’t a problem anymore.
Without this step, I definitely wouldn’t have had the full picture of the Wyoming registered agents on this list.
Ranking Factors
After they were put through the previous four phases, I rated the remaining Wyoming registered agents based on the following criteria:
Factor 1: Offerings
This is a pretty important factor because if a state of Wyoming registered agent doesn’t offer the particular services you need, it doesn’t matter how cheap their services are or how stellar their customer service is.
These offerings should comprise a consistent selection of services:
- Access to online documents
- Mail forwarding
- Alerts for upcoming compliance deadlines (from the Wyoming Secretary of State)
- Identity theft protection
- A cheap LLC service (or even the best LLC service)
The companies with the least impressive services went to to the bottom of the list, while the Wyoming registered agent with the best services climbed to the top of the list.
Factor 2: Value
The next thing I considered was the value for money. This actually varied widely between companies, so it’s not easy for the average person to discern what a good price for the services you get is.
I found that there are three different categories for Wyoming registered agents’ price ranges: budget, full service, and premium.
Budget services had price ranges between $39–$59 per year. Full service agents cost somewhere between $99–$129 a year. And those in the premium category seem to go from $299 a year and up.
The agents who provided the best or the most services for the least amount of money got higher spots on the list.
One of the things that my investigation into the Wyoming registered agent industry brought to light is that the agents in the budget pricing category offer some services for around $39 a year, but to actually get the services you’d expect out of a registered agent, you have to pay far more. In fact, some of these agents charge more than those in the premium price range! So you’ll notice that all the agents that offered budget prices aren’t on my list, and that’s why.
Factor 3: Ease of Sign-up
Sometimes you can find a Wyoming registered agent with the products and services you need, at the price you want, but then it takes days or weeks to get set up, which is enough to completely turn you off that service.
How easy it is to sign up and get started using the services is therefore the third factor on my list.
The agents that took a lot of my time to set up went towards the bottom of the list, while those who had either automated or streamlined services made it to the upper half of the list.
Factor 4: Ease of Use
Once you’re signed up and the system is set up on your computers, you can see how easy it is to navigate and use every day. Some of the Wyoming registered agent systems are really complicated and hard to navigate.
This is why the difficulty in using the system is the fourth factor I analyzed.
The agents with the most complicated, laborious systems went straight to the bottom half of the list, while those with the easiest to learn and use systems went to the top half.
Factor 5: Customer Service
It doesn’t matter how easy the system is to use, you’re going to eventually have to call someone for help. So customer service is pretty important when it comes to a Wyoming registered agent.
It’s pretty important to consider how optimal or abysmal a registered agent’s customer service is because it can mean the difference between getting through your daily tasks quickly or having work backed up for days.
This is the reason I analyzed the customer service of each Wyoming registered agent on my list.
The ones that took forever to answer phone calls or didn’t answer questions and fix problems went towards the bottom of the list, while those who answered calls lightning fast and actually solved problems went to the top half.
The Best Wyoming Registered Agent Service Review Summary
I assessed each Wyoming registered agent service based on five different factors, and put them each through a four-stage vetting process. The Wyoming registered agent service that came out on top was Northwest Registered Agent.
Overall Best Registered Agent Service — Northwest Registered Agent (9.13/10)
The main reason that Northwest Registered Agent beat out the rest of the Wyoming registered agent competition and made it to the top of my list is that they offer the best value for money.
They provide all the services your business needs:
- A Wyoming business address
- Scanned copies of all your important business documents (including service of process) and provide you with online access to them
- Notifications and reminders of compliance requirements and deadlines to keep you in good standing with the Wyoming Secretary of State
- Guaranteed protection of your personal details
But the reason they stand out from the pack is their customer support.
Their US-based, in-house team of former accountants, lawyers, small business owners, and entrepreneurs will not only assist with your questions regarding your registered agent in Wyoming, but they'll also use their personal experience and history of helping others to answer any small business operations questions you may have.
This kind and level of support can cost upwards of $5,000 per day if you hire a consultant making their fee of $125 per year incredible value.

Best Premium Registered Agent Service — LegalZoom (6.59/10)
If you’re looking for a registered agent in Wyoming that provides premium services, you should consider LegalZoom. They provide all the same basic services included by Northwest Registered Agent, but with the added benefit of $1,000,000 in identity theft protection. They’ll also cover any costs you incur from switching from another registered agent service to theirs.
They’re a little on the pricier side of the list, costing $299 a year, but even that price is worth it if you’re looking for a Wyoming registered agent to help protect your company from identity theft and other security risks.
Summary
Choosing the right Wyoming registered agent is monumentally important because they can secure your assets, keep your documents safe, accept service of process on your behalf, allow access to your documents online, and help meet your compliance deadlines.
I started out analyzing 64 different registered agents, and whittled that number down to 12 by using a four-phase process of analyzing them all based on five different factors.
I concluded that Northwest Registered Agent was the best Wyoming registered agent.
