12 Best Wyoming Registered Agent Services (2024 Review)

28/03/2024

Getting the best registered agent for your Wyoming business is vital to your business success.

The right Registered Agent will protect your privacy and assets while ensuring your company legal requirements are met.
The wrong Registered Agent will leave you exposed to unnecessary risk with your personal details available for scammers to exploit, your personal assets at risk if someone chooses to take legal action against you, and your company at risk by missing important compliance requirements.

To ensure you’re safe and protected, we’ve researched the top Wyoming registered agent services and narrowed it down to a list of the top 3, as well as a few honorable mentions.

Best Wyoming Registered Agent Services Recommendations

1. Harbor Compliance – 9.13/10 (Best Registered Agent Service)

Harbor Compliance made the top of our list because their services provide the best value and services for the money.

Pros

Harbor Compliance is not only a full-service agent option that can help with llc formation process, they pretty much provide you with everything you need. Some of their service offerings include:

  •  providing you with a business address or registered office in Wyoming,
  • scanning all of your important documents, including the legal documents,
  • set you up with online access to all of your documents, provide mail forwarding, and
  • notify you in advance about compliance deadlines.

The sign up process is quick and painless, and they provide their agent services in multiple states, which is great if you aspire to grow your business beyond the state of Wyoming.

Their system is really easy to use; it was designed for those who aren’t tech-savvy, and it allows you to manage registration for several different states at once within the same portal, which is a feature that’s not seen with many other registered agents in Wyoming.

Their customer service is more than adequate. They respond to calls quickly and answer questions in a way that’s not only easily understood, but also thoroughly answer the questions.

Cons:

While they are a full service option, they’re not offering the same services that a premium option would, such as identity theft and asset protection.

If identity theft and asset protection are important to you, they can be purchased elsewhere for less than the cost difference between Harbor Compliance’s services and those of the budget agents.

Overall

We truly believe that Harbor Compliance is the best overall option for a registered agent in Wyoming. They’re a full-service option that’s reliable and they have fantastic customer support.

If you’re looking for an agent that will help you set up your llc and help support and grow your company, Harbor Compliance is the best way to go.

2. Northwest Registered Agent – 7.81/10 (Best Customer Service)

Northwest Registered Agent is our 2nd pick for an overall agent service, but it’s our first pick for an agent with stellar customer support.

Pros

This is another full-service option that will assist with llc formation. They offer mail forwarding, online access to your legal documents, notifications for compliance deadlines, and a registered office address or business address.

Their setup process isn’t hard to navigate, and you can set up registration for more than one state pretty easily. Their system is relatively simple to use, but it could use a few small changes to make it even better.

The best part about Northwest Registered Agent  is their customer support. Not only are they extremely helpful, friendly, and easy to contact, once you get set up with the company, you get access to their customer service team for life.

They even provide the best LLC services in Wyoming.

Cons

There are three cons to Northwest Registered Agent.

First, they don’t offer identity theft or asset protection, but similar to Harbor compliance, you can purchase them separately.

Second, their system isn’t as user-friendly as Harbor Compliance’s. That meant that we had to spend more time talking to customer support than we would have liked.

Lastly, their price is a downfall. They’re 25% more expensive than Harbor Compliance.

Overall

If you want good customer service, or if you don’t want to use Harbor Compliance, Northwest Registered Agent is a good choice.

3. LegalZoom — 6.59/10 (Best Premium RA)

This is the best of the premium options.

Pros

They provide both full-service and premium services, so you get mail forwarding, notifications of compliance deadlines, a registered office address, and access to your documents online, as well as up to $1 million in identity theft protection.

Cons

There are two pretty significant drawbacks to LegalZoom.

The first is their price. They charge $299 per year, which is $200 more than what you would pay for Harbor Compliance. It’s not worth that just for the added identity theft protection, because it can be purchased elsewhere for far less.

The second drawback is that registered agent services are actually a very small portion of what the company provides, so it’s not the focus of their business. Their system is pretty hard to use compared with both Northwest Registered Agent and Harbor Compliance, and their customer service is nowhere near as efficient as them, either.

Overall

Despite their drawbacks, LegalZoom is a reputable company, so it might be worth it to use them if you’re already using some of their other services. Otherwise, it’s probably better to go with either Harbor Compliance or Northwest Registered Agent.

Here are the other nine services I analyzed:

4. ZenBusiness

ZenBusiness is relatively new to the registered agent and LLC industry. Their base services run around $99 per year, but if you want notifications, you’re going to have to pay an additional $149 per month for it.

It’s pretty easy to assume that there’s some benefit to paying the additional $149 for the notification system, but as of the time of this writing, their customer support hasn’t contacted me to tell me what that benefit is, and it’s been 6 days!

You can actually get Wyoming registered agent services from them for free when you sign up for their llc formation service, but in the end you’ll still be paying more for the notification system and mail forwarding than you would for any of the companies on our top three list.

If you want to know more about their services, read my ZenBusiness review.

5. IncFile

IncFile is an llc service that provides the bare minimum in terms of service. They charge $119 per year, but you don’t get compliance notifications. So, you’re getting fewer services for a higher price.

Just like ZenBusiness, they offer free agent services for a year, but you’re still paying more for base-level services like mail forwarding and a registered office.

6. Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer is really a cheap copycat version of LegalZoom. Their registered agent llc or corporation services aren’t their primary services. They charge $149 per year for their extremely basic services, like a registered office, and their customer service is definitely not as good as whatyou hope for with an agent service.

If you want to know more about their online legal services and offerings read my Rocket Lawyer review.

7. SunDoc Filings

SunDoc Filings is an llc formation and registered agent service that provides you with low-level services, like a registered office, and they charge $159 per year for their sub-par service.

8. InCorp

InCorp seems like a good LLC formation and registered agent service at first, if you look at their $99 per year price tag.

But their system is so frustrating to use that you’ll be on the phone with customer support a lot. Also, their customer support isn’t good enough to justify using such a clunky system just to get an office address.

9. Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings registered agent service does provide some important llc services like compliance notifications and agent services, but they charge $149 per year.

You can get more details about their products and services in my Swyft Filings review.

10. CSC Global

CSC Global service offers full-service service at premium prices. They do pay any fees from the state of Wyoming associated with switching to their service at a charge of $299/year. For that price you could pay Harbor Compliance’s fees and then pay the state’s fees on your own for less.

11. Registered Agents Inc.

Registered Agents Inc. provides the same llc services as Harbor Compliance, but they charge $200/year compared with Harbor Compliance’s $99/year.

12. Jumpstart Filings

Jumpstart Filings offers bare minimum when it comes to llc formation and registered agent services, but they charge $129/year.

It’s also worth noting that they don’t offer free registered agent services when you sign up for their LLC formation services.

Wyoming Registered Agent Reviews Methodology

Here is how I determined the best registered agent service in Wyoming.

Why You Should Trust Us

I’ve spent more time researching and interacting with Wyoming registered agent services than most anyone else has.

I started out looking for registered agents for my two businesses- a health website and a cafe. Both of those businesses were eventually sold, so I was looking for a new venture. I noticed that my friends started coming to me, asking about how to find good registered agents. The advice I gave them gradually turned into my new business venture, and now I’m using the same advice about how to find a registered agent in Wyoming to help you!

How We Selected The Best Registered Agent in Wyoming

This was a gradual process that started with a Wyoming registered agent list of 50, which is an insane amount of registered agents. From there, we narrowed the list down to 10, and then narrowed it even further to the top 3 registered agent services in Wyoming.

Stage 1: Online Feedback

The first thing we looked at were the online reviews about registered agents. There’s actually a surprising abundance of online reviews for registered agents when you look at feedback from the Better Business Bureau, TrustPilot and any other website where customers can weigh in.

There’s no way we could read every last review that was posted. That would have taken years! But we did read reviews with more than a couple of paragraphs’ worth of information, and that allowed us to separate legitimate Wyoming registered agent services from obvious scams.

Stage 2: Website Review

After we were able to eliminate all of the registered agents that provided low-level and sub-par services based on customer reviews, we took an analytical look at their websites.

Some of the things we looked for included:

  • the variety of services or products they offered
  • how many different methods they provided for contacting their customer service,
  • the company’s history,
  • what awards they’d won and any other information they provided on their sites

All of this information paints a picture about the company and what sort of services they offer.

Stage 3: Speaking With Real Customers

Online reviews are a great place to start when you’re trying to get a grasp of the type of service of registered agents in Wyoming. But to get more details, you really need to talk to actual customers and ask questions, not just read a static review.

How did we find these customers? We asked people who followed recommendations from our website or people we knew were using a Wyoming registered agent.

These customers allowed us to ask questions to get an idea about how satisfied they were with the services, as well as what sort of customer support and services they provided without having to rely solely on what they advertised on their website.

Stage 4: Speak With Their Sales Team

The final step was to call up their sales team and talk to someone. We gathered up all of the bad reviews and complaints we’d seen on review websites and then we challenged them to respond to them. You can find out a lot about a Wyoming registered agent by how their sales team answers these tough questions, and what they say in their sales pitches.

This helped us determine whether or not the company was actually growing. Some of the Wyoming registered agents we spoke to suggested that the customers who wrote the reviews  were just crazy and that we shouldn’t pay their stories any attention. But many of the more high-quality registered agents in Wyoming actually admitted that they knew about the complaints and had used the feedback to fix the problem or create a new service, so that it actually wasn’t a problem anymore.

Without this step, we definitely wouldn’t have had the full picture of the Wyoming registered agents on this list.

Ranking Factors

After they were put through the previous 4 phases, we rated the remaining registered agents based on the following criteria:

Factor 1: Offerings

This is a pretty important factor because if a Wyoming registered agent doesn’t offer the particular services you need, it doesn’t matter how cheap their services are, or how stellar their customer service is.

We looked for things like:

  • whether they allowed you to access online documents,
  • if they simply provided mail forwarding,
  • if they actually contact you when compliance deadlines are coming up as opposed to just providing you with a calendar, and
  • If they provide you with identity theft protection or just give you a general guarantee that your information will be protected.
  • A cheap LLC service (or even the best LLC service)

The companies with the least impressive services went to the bottom of the list, while the Wyoming registered agent with the best services climbed to the top of the list.

Factor 2: Price

The next thing we considered was the service cost. This actually varied widely between companies, so it’s not easy for the average person to discern what a good price is.

What we found was that there are three different categories for Wyoming registered agents’ price ranges: budget, full service and premium.

Budget services had price ranges between $39-$59 per year. Full service agents cost somewhere between $99-129 a year. And those in the premium category seem to go from $299 a year and up.

The agents who provided the best or the most services for the least amount of money got higher spots on the list.

One of the things that our investigation into the Wyoming registered agent industry brought to light is that the agents in the budget pricing category offer some services for around $39 a year, but to actually get the services you’d expect out of a registered agent, you have to pay far more. In fact, some of these agents charge more than those in the premium price range! So, you’ll notice that all of the agents that offered budget prices aren’t on our list, and that’s why.

Factor 3: Ease of Signup

Sometimes you can find a registered agent with the products and services you need, at the price you want, but then it takes days or weeks to get set up, which is enough to completely turn you off that service.

How easy it is to sign up and get started using the services is therefore the third factor on our list.

The agents that took a lot of ourtime to set up went to the bottom of the list, while those who had either automated or streamlined services made it to the top of the list.

Factor 4: Ease of Use

Once you’re signed up and the system is set up on your computers, you can see how easy it is to navigate and use every day. Some of the registered agent systems are really complicated and hard to navigate.

This is why how difficult it is to use the system is the 4th factor we analyzed.

The agents with the most complicated, laborious systems went straight to the bottom of the list, while those with the easiest to learn and use systems went to the top.

Factor 5: Customer Service

It doesn’t matter how easy the system is to use, you’re going to eventually have to call someone for help. So, customer service is pretty important when it comes to a registered agent.

It’s pretty important to consider how optimal or abysmal a registered agent’s customer service is because it can mean the difference between getting through your daily tasks quickly, or having work backed up for days.

This is the reason we analyzed the customer service of each registered agent on our list.

The ones that took forever to answer phone calls or didn’t answer questions and fix problems went to the bottom of the list, while those who answered calls lightning fast and actually solved problems went to the top.

The Best Wyoming Registered Agent Service Review Summary

We assessed each registered agent service based on five different factors, and put them each through a 4-stage vetting process. The registered agent service that came out on top was Harbor Compliance

Overall Best Registered Agent Service – Harbor Compliance

The main reason that Harbor Compliance beat out the rest of the registered agent competition and made it to the top of our list is that they offer the most services for the lowest price, making the services they provide great value for the money.

Services They Provide:

  • A business address,
  • Scan copies of all of your important business documents and provide you with online access to them,
  • Notifications and reminders of compliance requirements and deadlines, and
  • They’ll keep your privacy secured.

One of their best features, however, is that they have offices in every state. So, if your business expands, they can accommodate it, no matter where your businesses are.

Their services only cost $99 a year, so that makes them the cheapest on this list, and means that this Wyoming registered agent will give you the best value for your money.

Best Customer Support Registered Agent Service – Northwest Registered Agent

If stellar customer support is something you’re looking for in a registered agent, then Northwest is the agent for you. They provide the same level of service as Harbor Compliance, but they also offer lifetime customer service support from their team, which they call “Corporate Guides”.

It will cost you slightly more than Harbor Compliance, at $125 per year, but it’s worth it if you want a registered agent that provides both excellent services and solid customer support you can depend on.

Don't just take it from me. There are also hundreds of positive Harbor Compliance reviews online from other happy customers.

If you're looking for a cheap Wyoming registered agent service and want to know more about Harbor Compliance, you can read more on their website.

Best Premium Registered Agent Service – Legal Zoom

If you’re looking for a registered agent in Wyoming that provides premium services, then you should consider Legal Zoom. They provide all of the same basic services that Harbor Compliance does, but with the added benefit of $1,000,000 in identity theft protection. They’ll also cover any costs you incur from switching from another registered agent service to theirs.

They’re a little on the pricier side of the list, costing $299 a year, but even that price is worth it if you’re looking for a registered agent to help protect your company from identity theft and other security risks.

Summary

Choosing the right registered agent service is monumentally important because they can secure your assets, keep your documents safe, allow access to your documents online, and help meet your compliance deadlines.

We started out analyzing 64 different registered agents, and whittled that number down to 11 by using a 4-phase process of analyzing them all based on five different factors.

We concluded that Harbor Compliance was the best Wyoming registered agent.

They offer everything you need from a registered agent service, and they offer it at the lowest price. Their computer system is easy to navigate, it’s easy to access your documents online, their customer service is great, and they allow you to register in more than one state, which allows your company or llc to expand.

If you’re looking for a great overall registered agent service, then check out Harbor Compliance.
