Choosing the right LLC service is essential when launching a new Mississippi business.
The right LLC service will have your business up and running in just a few days, with all the formation documents filed properly with the Mississippi Secretary of State and the appropriate business licenses obtained.
The wrong LLC service will delay the formation process, taking weeks or even months—you won’t be able to run your business without all the registrations and paperwork completed.
I’ve reviewed and ranked the top 10 limited liability company (LLC) services based on five rating factors and a four-step investigative process to help you find the best one. Here are the results of my research on the best LLC service:
1. Northwest Registered Agent: 9.45/10 (Best Overall LLC Service)
Northwest Registered Agent checks every box at a great price and is the only LLC service that offers small business advice.
Pros
Northwest Registered Agent has a lot going for it.
It provides all the services you need to set up your limited liability company and get your business ready to go.
Northwest completes and files your Mississippi LLC certificate of formation with the Mississippi Secretary of State, offers free registered agent service for a year, and provides a clear and straightforward online dashboard to access and oversee your business documents.
A Mississippi registered agent is essential. Your agent will receive mail and legal documents for your business during regular business hours, as well as giving you a business address to include on your registered agent form and reminding you of upcoming compliance deadlines.
Northwest also gives you a free accounting consultation to make sure your payment processing system is properly configured, a free operating agreement for your LLC in Mississippi, and a 90-day trial of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service. You can buy extras like a federal tax ID number (also known as an employer identification number, or EIN), a Certificate of Good Standing, or copies of your LLC documents that have been certified by the state.
But Northwest Registered Agent stands out from the rest because of its Corporate Guides.
Northwest doesn’t have a typical customer support team that’s barely equipped to help you reset your password or provide you with filing submission updates. It has a US-based team of former small business owners, accountants, lawyers, and entrepreneurs that can handle any questions you may have about the LLC formation process, as well as starting and running your Mississippi business.
These guides have either started their own Mississippi LLCs or worked as LLC advisors to help hundreds of other people do the same. Northwest is the only LLC formation service that offers this kind of small business advice. Considering that some small business consulting firms charge up to $5,000/day for the same services, this is a big plus.
The price is the last reason why I put Northwest at the top of my list.
Even though its regular price of $225 is a great deal for small business advice, I was able to get a special deal for BoostSuite readers. If you sign up through my sign-up page, you’ll get an 82% discount. This makes the total cost of setting up your LLC in Mississippi only $39 (plus state filing fee).
At $225, Northwest is a great deal, but an 82% discount brings them down to $39, making it the clear #1 choice.
Cons
Northwest Registered Agent’s only downside is that it doesn’t offer anything to help you set up your online presence. Some premium (read: expensive) packages for LLC services include features for setting up a website, such as a free year of domain name registration, website hosting, Google advertising credits, or a free website builder. None of these are available from Northwest.
But when you consider that Google gives a $500 advertising credit to new businesses, domain names cost less than $12 to register, and premium website builders like Squarespace cost as little as $15/month, you can buy these add-ons with the money you save with Northwest and still have money left over.
Overall
Northwest Registered Agent is my pick for the best LLC service because, in addition to giving you the basics you need to set up your limited liability company (LLC), they have a US-based customer support team made up of people who have started an LLC in Mississippi and can help you through the challenges you’ll face.
If you want the best LLC formation service that goes above and beyond to help your business succeed and you want an 82% discount, head to Northwest Registered Agent today.
2. ZenBusiness: 8.25/10 (Best Essentials LLC Service)
ZenBusiness’ appealing offer of $0 is enough to make anyone want to learn about its services, but it lacks free registered agent services and doesn’t supply small business support.
Pros
The biggest benefit of ZenBusiness’ services is that for only $0 (plus state fees) it will provide all the services you need to set up your LLC. It will double-check the information on your documents for accuracy, make sure your business name is available, and file your documents with the Secretary of State.
ZenBusiness also has a Pro plan for $199, which covers expedited filing (four to six days) and assistance with your operating agreement, and a $299 Premium plan that supplies a custom website builder, email address, domain name, and rush filing (one to two days).
Another nice touch is that its customer service team is available during extended hours on weekdays, as well as on Sundays.
Cons
There’s no denying that ZenBusiness’ $0 price point is less than many other LLC service providers on the market, but if you want anything beyond the absolute bare minimum, you’re going to have to pay extra for it.
ZenBusiness doesn’t provide free registered agent service for the first year, unlike some other LLC service providers, which means that you’re paying full cost from the first year.
ZenBusiness’ extended customer service hours are convenient, but the customer service team isn’t as experienced as some of the other teams I’ve researched for this list. While they can help you with typical customer-service issues (like password changes or updating your contact information), they don’t offer small business or legal advice.
Overall
ZenBusiness can help you form your LLC for $0. It will help you fill out your paperwork properly and file it for you, and you can count on the customer service team to help you with any questions you have during the formation process.
You’ll certainly have to pay more than $0 with ZenBusiness if you want registered agent service, but it offers worry-free compliance and a 100% accuracy guarantee to provide peace of mind, which is a priceless commodity.
If you’d like a provider to cover all of the basics, you can learn more about ZenBusiness on its website.
3. Harbor Compliance: 7.15/10 (Best Premium LLC Service)
Harbor Compliance gives you a dedicated account manager who makes sure all your questions and concerns are taken care of, but you have to pay for it.
Pros
Harbor Compliance makes sure your chosen business name is available, prepares and files your certificate of formation with the Mississippi Secretary of State, gives you an operating agreement template, helps you get an EIN, and gives you a free year of registered agent service, which ordinarily costs $99 per year.
But the best thing about Harbor Compliance is that you get a personal guide to show you the way.
There’s no need to call customer service or send an email to an anonymous helpline. You can talk to your personal representative at Harbor Compliance. This person is familiar with your situation and challenges and can give you advice that fits your needs.
Cons
The downside of this assistance is that it’s not cheap.
At $399 for Harbor Compliance’s formation package and $799 for its Compliance package, it costs almost twice as much as Northwest Registered Agent and 10 times as much as the deal I was able to work out.
Even though having a personal guide to help you through the process of forming an LLC in Mississippi is great, is it really worth an extra $360?
Overall
Harbor Compliance isn’t the best LLC service out there, but it covers all the basics and is the only one to offer a dedicated account manager, which makes it stand out.
Even though its price of $399 is 10 times higher than my special deal with Northwest Registered Agent, it’s still one of the best LLC services in Mississippi.
Check out its website if you want help from a dedicated account manager and are willing to pay for it.
4. Rocket Lawyer
Rocket Lawyer offers all the basic services you’d expect from a Mississippi LLC service, like helping you file your Mississippi LLC certificate of formation with the Mississippi Secretary of State. But it also offers legal advice, which is something no other LLC formation service does.
When you sign up for Rocket Lawyer’s $99.99 formation service, you can try out its legal services for free for seven days. With that, you get access to a huge library of customizable legal documents, a 30-minute legal consultation with a lawyer on any topic, a lawyer’s review of your legal documents, and attorney protection if your legal documents are challenged.
Even better, Rocket Lawyer’s customer service team is made up of attorneys who know how to answer your questions.
Rocket Lawyer may have good legal services, but there are a few problems with its LLC formation services. You don’t get a year of free registered agent service (instead you’ll pay $149 for it), and it doesn't offer compliance alerts, accounting consultations, or VoIP service.
Rocket Lawyer could be a good choice if you need a lot of legal help for your LLC in Mississippi beyond just setting it up. It’s a good choice for any business owner who doesn’t have much experience and needs help figuring out how to follow the laws in Mississippi. But Northwest is a better choice if you want more comprehensive services when you form a Mississippi business.
You don’t have to sign up for Rocket Lawyer’s LLC formation services to use its legal services. Since it doesn’t offer enough in its formation services package, it makes more sense to go with Northwest and create a free account on Rocket Lawyer’s website to use the legal services.

5. Swyft Filings
Swyft Filings, founded in 2012, is a relative newcomer to the LLC formation service industry.
It provides a lot for $49 (plus state filing fee) in its basic package. Swyft Filings helps you prepare and submit your certificate of formation and Mississippi LLC operating agreement with the Secretary of State, offers you online access to your documents, provides a free 30-minute session of business tax consultation, and offers a year of free business domain name registration.
However, unlike Northwest Registered Agent, it does not provide a complimentary year of registered agent service. Because it charges $149 per year for this, it will only cost you more to use its services in the long run.
Read my Swyft Filings review for a more comprehensive explanation of its services.
6. MyCompanyWorks
MyCompanyWorks is rather inconsistent.
For $79 (plus state fees) it will draft and file the certificate of formation for your LLC in Mississippi, assist you with your operating agreement, provide online access to your critical documents, and notify you of any filing deadlines for compliance (so that you won’t forget to file your annual report).
But there is a disadvantage.
The premium package includes a free year of registered agent service, but it costs a steep $279. MyCompanyWorks is not a good option when compared to Northwest Registered Agent, which costs $39 and offers a free year of registered agent service.
7. Inc Authority
Inc Authority is another LLC service that purports to be “cheap” but is really rather expensive.
It’ll assist you with your certificate of formation and file it for free, but anything beyond that will cost you considerably.
Inc Authority charges $399 (plus state fee) for its basic package, which includes an LLC operating agreement, help with obtaining an EIN, and a business seal. Only the $799 premium bundle includes Mississippi registered agent service (which includes a physical address to include on your forms, and a registered agent to accept mail and legal documents for your LLC in Mississippi).
No matter how little money you have, ZenBusiness is a much superior alternative to Inc Authority when you compare its services.
8. Incorporate Fast
Incorporate Fast, an LLC formation specialist, costs $99 (plus state fees) for its basic package.
In addition to filing your certificate of formation, this package includes a year of free Mississippi registered agent services, help drafting the operating agreement for your LLC in Mississippi, and a handful of sample documents that you may need to start your company.
For $199 it will assist you with getting your EIN, but it doesn't provide any extra service, like a business tax assessment or online document storage.
The key distinction is that it processes every new business filing the same day it is received, which is a benefit that other providers don’t supply. So, check it out if you’re in a hurry to form your business entity and want to pay more without getting any extra services for the price.
However, if you just want outstanding pricing and a plethora of extra services, Northwest Registered Agent is the way to go.
9. BizFilings
BizFilings is another company that offers Mississippi LLC formation services for $99 (plus state fees).
This bundle includes filing your documents and a free year of Mississippi registered agent services, and compliance alerts (to remind you to file your annual report). It doesn't provide any extras, though, such as business tax assessment, online document storage, or support with your operating agreement, so you’re paying more for a lot less.
10. LegalZoom
LegalZoom maintains the trend of offering subpar basic packages for $99 (plus state fees) that deliver very little. LegalZoom will assist you in filing your certificate of formation and will supply you with a banking resolution (so that you can open a business bank account for your LLC in Mississippi), but nothing more.
This means you won’t get registered agent services, compliance alerts to remind you about annual report filings, or any of the other extras that Northwest provides.
If you’re currently using LegalZoom’s legal services or registered agent services (which are kept separate from its Mississippi LLC formation services), and want all your business concerns handled by one provider, then LegalZoom may make sense. But contracting them just for your LLC formation isn’t worth it.
If you want to learn more about LegalZoom’s services and offerings, check out my complete LegalZoom Review.
Other LLC Services
As part of my research, I looked at seven other Mississippi LLC formation services. None of them were good enough to recommend, so I didn’t feel the need to analyze them in detail. Here they are, in no particular order.
11. Incorporate.com
Incorporate.com, like Rocket Lawyer and LegalZoom, features a $99 basic service that’s extremely minimal. It will assist you in filing the certificate of formation for your Mississippi LLC and will supply online document storage, but that’s it.
This limited service package means that it doesn't offer Mississippi registered agent services, compliance alerts for your annual reports, assistance with your operating agreement, VoIP service, or any of the other extras among Northwest’s service offerings.
12. CorpNet
CorpNet costs $108 (plus state fee) for its Mississippi LLC formation services, which includes filing your certificate of formation and sending compliance notifications. That’s all. For that price, you don’t even get a Mississippi registered agent or assistance with your operating agreement.
13. MyCorporation
MyCorporation will only file your certificate of formation and help you with your operating agreement for $133 (plus state fees). Every other service (like Mississippi registered agent service or compliance alerts) will cost you extra.
14. Direct Incorporation
Direct Incorporation adds to MyCorporation’s offerings (filing your certificate of formation and assisting you with the operating agreement for your Mississippi LLC) by supplying a banking resolution and helping you get your EIN. However, its Mississippi LLC formation services cost $147 (plus state fees).
15. InCorp
InCorp costs $117 (plus state fee) to submit your certificate of formation and help you draft an operating agreement for your Mississippi LLC. Every other service (like Mississippi registered agent service or compliance alerts) is subject to an additional fee.
For more about InCorp, click here to read my full review.
16. Nationwide Incorporations
Nationwide Incorporations provides the same restricted services as InCorp (Filing your certificate of formation and helping draft the operating agreement for your Mississippi LLC), but costs $200.
17. SunDoc Filings
SunDoc Filings’ basic package only includes submitting your certificate of formation for $79. It’ll help you with the operating agreement for your Mississippi LLC with its $99 Key package, and your EIN application in its $279 Premier package. That means for this exorbitant price, you won’t even get a registered agent.
The Best Mississippi LLC Service Review Summary
Out of all 17 Mississippi LLC formation companies and the 10 best of those, Northwest Registered Agent is the best business formation option for most Mississippi businesses.
Northwest provides a $39 (plus state fee) business formation package that includes all the basics you need to establish a company, and the advice and assistance offered by its Corporate Guides can cost you as much as $5,000 per day if you choose a consulting firm instead.
If you’re ready to establish your Mississippi LLC and want all the essentials covered by experienced specialists, as well as help and advice in conquering your business issues, check out Northwest Registered Agent.
Best LLC Service Review Methodology
This is how I arrived at my conclusion on the best LLC services.
Why You Should Trust Me
You should trust my recommendations for business formation service companies since I have more knowledge and experience in the business formation market than almost anybody.
My experience began when I used three separate business formation services to launch my three small businesses. Yes, I used three separate services since the other two didn’t give me the assistance I needed. (I won’t identify them because they’ve both improved greatly since I used them, and I don’t think you should make any judgments today based on outdated knowledge.)
The third service, which was used to launch this website, has exceeded my expectations for a business formation service and provided considerably more value than I paid for, which is why Northwest Registered Agent is my best overall LLC service suggestion.
However, my experience is not restricted to using those three services. I also have considerable expertise in assisting people in selecting the appropriate business formation service for their new small businesses. I’ve personally helped over 1,000 customers choose the perfect LLC service for their new Mississippi LLC since founding BoostSuite, and I’ve had to go deep into the field to do so.
How I Selected the Best LLC Service
My selection of the best LLC formation service was a four-stage investigative procedure.
Stage 1: Reviews
The first step in choosing the best LLC services was to examine the web reviews of the major businesses in the industry. At least among the prominent LLC formation companies, there is a strong history of encouraging clients to leave reviews online, and some companies now have over 4,500 online reviews!
This review stage enabled me to get an understanding of the quality of the various formation services and eliminate any services that did not meet basic performance criteria.
Stage 2: Website Analysis
After eliminating any poor formation service options and getting a broad sense of each provider, I went to their websites. I logged on, read their headlines and titles, and attempted to learn about the companies through their claims and comments.
This enabled me to grasp the core business formation services offered by each provider, as well as how it saw its market position and offerings.
Stage 3: Speaking With Real Customers
Once I knew how the company attempted to position itself, I needed to know if it could back up its claims. Reading internet reviews may occasionally help with this, but since most individuals only publish reviews when they’ve had extraordinarily great or terrible experiences, the findings tend to tilt to the extremes.
I next contacted the clients I could really speak with in order to learn firsthand about their experiences. This feedback guaranteed that I acquired a well-rounded and nuanced grasp of the average customer’s perspectives on each LLC service.
I contacted acquaintances who had used any of these business formation services, reached out to folks whom I had referred to them, and chatted with website visitors to learn about the benefits and drawbacks of their experiences.
This provided me with a deep and detailed understanding of what it was like to use each service provider, and it moved me closer to choosing the best LLC services.
Stage 4: Speaking With Their Sales Teams
The last stage in my investigation was calling their sales and customer support departments to grill them for answers.
I gathered the input I had obtained from my examination of online reviews and discussions with customers, and then I pushed their customer service teams on any complaints that had been directed against the company.
This last phase gave me the opportunity to assess how effectively each company dealt with criticism and how they responded to input that wasn’t particularly good.

Rating Factors
After the four-stage investigative process, each company was rated based on five different factors.
Factor 1: Offerings
The services that were being provided were the first thing that I took into consideration.
Some LLC formation providers will only assist you with your certificate of formation before kicking you to the curb unless you pay more for additional services. And then there are other formation services that provide registered agent services, online access to all of your company’s documents, and even assistance with drafting an operating agreement for your Mississippi LLC.
Because of the significant differences in the Mississippi LLC formation services provided by each company, I decided to begin my ratings evaluation here.
Factor 2: Price
Cost was my second consideration while making my decision about which LLC service is the best. Some services start as low as $0, while others won’t allow you inside their virtual doors for less than $399.
When you consider this along with the vast disparity in the kind of services offered, the cost of services, or more specifically the cost for each service, was the second factor I used to rate the services in question.
Factor 3: Ease of Sign-Up
The ease with which new customers can register for these services was the third consideration that I took into account while rating them.
Some Mississippi LLC formation services make use of clumsy and outmoded legacy systems that give the impression of having been developed in the late 1990s and constructed by students in a high school coding class. And some offer systems that are slick and easy to use, which makes the laborious process of getting a business entity off the ground much simpler.
I investigated how each company’s sign-up process worked to determine which took the least amount of effort and mental capacity on my part.
Factor 4: Ease of Use
The design and operating problems are not resolved after the sign-up procedure has been completed. The majority of the time, any design and function difficulties that were encountered during the sign-up process carry over into the onboarding process as well.
Some providers supply prefilled forms that already have all the necessary data included and just need a signature from the client. Other providers merely supply blank forms, despite the fact that they already possess all the required information, and need you to write the same information in 11 separate areas.
Because nobody likes to spend more time than they need to on anything, ESPECIALLY when there are so many vital tasks to perform when starting a business, determining how easy each service was to use was a key rating consideration.
Factor 5: Customer Service
Customer service was the last factor I used to rate each LLC formation service. This was another area in which I saw a significant difference in the value they provided.
Several limited liability company (LLC) services base their support teams in other countries and staff them with locals who have inadequate training and very little to no experience doing business in the United States.
Then there are services such as Northwest Registered Agent, whose US-based customer service department is made up of former entrepreneurs, small business owners, accountants, and lawyers who have personal experience in assisting you with overcoming the challenges your Mississippi LLC faces and can talk you through the process of selecting the most appropriate solution.
My fifth and final rating factor was a direct result of the significant disparity in the value offered by different customer service teams.
In Conclusion
After putting 17 different LLC services through my four-step and five-factor evaluation process, I came up with a list of the top 10 services and used that to choose the one that performed the best. The title of best LLC service in Mississippi goes to Northwest Registered Agent.
Northwest provides a free year of registered agent service in addition to covering all the basics, which includes assistance with preparing and filing your formation documents with the Secretary of State, a free year of registered agent service, and an online service that allows you to save all your documents online.
In addition to that, Northwest will provide you with an operating agreement template for your Mississippi LLC, a trial of its VoIP system, and a free consultation with its in-house accounting staff to assist you with establishing your payment processing.
Northwest Registered Agent’s Corporate Guides are the one thing that really sets it apart from the competition in this industry.
Based in the United States, the Corporate Guides will not only answer any questions you have about the process of setting up your Mississippi LLC, but thanks to their previous careers as accountants, lawyers, small business owners, and entrepreneurs, they will also guide you through the inevitable challenges you will face on your path to running a successful Mississippi LLC.
Even though it won’t help you establish your online presence, the 82% discount offered exclusively to BoostSuite readers ensures that you will have enough money leftover to use one of the premium website builders.
If you’re ready to start your LLC, visit Northwest Registered Agent as soon as possible.
