The 12 Best Registered Agents in Wisconsin — Reviewed and Ranked

Finding the right registered agent service for your limited liability company (LLC) is an important decision that is vital to the success of your business.

The right Wisconsin registered agent will provide your LLC or corporation with the services it needs to maintain good standing and follow the rules enforced by the Wisconsin Secretary of State (like a registered office, a physical address in Wisconsin, and annual report filing reminders), and keep your personal information (like your name and address) off the public record.

They also ensure that your business never misses a service of process, mail, or legal documents they receive from official government agencies (like the Wisconsin Secretary of State or Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions), and charge a fee for their services that is a good value for your company.

The wrong Wisconsin registered agent will be lax in their Wisconsin registered agent duties, which could result in legal troubles with the Secretary of State, losing the good standing status of your limited liability company (LLC), corporation, or other business entity, and possibly not being able to legally conduct business in the state of Wisconsin anymore.

To find the best Wisconsin registered agent service, I investigated over 60 different registered agents in the state, ranked the top 12, and wrote thorough reviews about the best 3. Here is my list of the best registered agents in Wisconsin:

1. Northwest Registered Agent — 9.13/10 (My Top Pick)

After thorough investigation, it was pretty clear that Northwest Registered Agent is the best Wisconsin registered agent service for your LLC or corporation. They provide all the registered agent services that your business in Wisconsin needs (including several luxury services you can’t find anywhere else), as well as the best customer service team in the registered agent industry, and they charge a competitive fee of only $125 per state, per year.

Pros

You’ll likely find a lot of reasons to enjoy Northwest Registered Agent’s Wisconsin registered agent service.

As I stated above, they provide all the basic services that a Wisconsin registered agent must, such as a registered agent’s address in the state of Wisconsin registered with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, a registered office with a legal point of contact that is available to receive service of process, mail, and legal documents on behalf of your limited liability company (LLC) or corporation during normal business hours, and mail forwarding. They also provide the best LLC formation service in Wisconsin to help you get started.

They also provide many luxury services. They scan ALL the mail, service of process, and legal documents they receive on behalf of your LLC or corporation (not just the documents and service of process), then upload it to an online system for you to access with an online account and email address. You’ll receive compliance filing alerts to remind you about important filing deadlines for your LLC or corporation (like your annual report) to ensure that your business stays in good standing with the Wisconsin Secretary of State as well.

Northwest Registered Agent is a national registered agent service, with a registered office in every state. This means that they can support your company if it expands beyond the state of Wisconsin. Furthermore, you’ll be able to receive discounts if you sign up for registered agent service in multiple states, and it’s easy to sign up for multistate service from their online system.

But their stand-out feature is their customer service.

When you call most Wisconsin registered agent services’ customer support teams, they will generally be able to walk you through technical issues with their online system or their online account and can answer questions about their Wisconsin registered agent service adequately. And while Northwest Registered Agent’s team can do all of that, they go above and beyond, as well.

Their customer service team is made up of a team of US-based representatives who used to be accountants, entrepreneurs, business owners, and lawyers before joining Northwest Registered Agent. They offer small business advice to anyone who subscribes to their Wisconsin registered agent service, so you will receive expert advice and answers to any question you have about your LLC or corporation because they have enough experience to help you deal with any business situation.

This sort of business advice can typically cost around $5,000 per day, so the fact that Northwest Registered Agent only charges $125 per state, per year and provides these services makes their Wisconsin registered agent service a real bargain for any company in the state of Wisconsin.

Cons

There’s only one drawback to Northwest Registered Agent’s Wisconsin registered agent service, and unusually it has to do with their comprehensive approach to customer service. I know I just said that was their best feature, but hear me out.

Sometimes when you’re pressed for time you can’t sit around and play 20 questions with them. There were a few times that I called them and they asked more questions than I reasonably had time to answer. You can’t call them up to get a simple answer to a straightforward question, then get back to work. And in these instances, it’s more time efficient to simply Google your question.

This is an incredibly high-quality complaint. You won’t encounter this issue often, and you’ll usually be blown away by the positive experiences you have with their customer service team. But it can be annoying when you want quick resolution.

Overall

Northwest Registered Agent is the best registered agent in Wisconsin. They provide all the services you need to keep your Wisconsin state LLC or corporation in good standing, they only charge $125 per state, per year for their multitude of services, and they have the best customer service in the registered agent industry.

Their customer service team and small business support make them an easy choice for the best Wisconsin registered agent service.

If you’re a new Wisconsin LLC or corporation and need a Wisconsin registered agent, or you want to change your Wisconsin registered agent, and you want the best agent for service of process for your company, sign up with Northwest Registered Agent today.

2. Harbor Compliance — 7.92/10 (Best Budget Registered Agent)

Harbor Compliance is a good second choice if you’re looking for a budget-friendly Wisconsin registered agent service for your LLC or corporation. They provide all the basic services that a registered agent must and they do it for $99.

Pros

Harbor Compliance provides your Wisconsin LLC or corporation with all the registered agent services it needs to maintain good legal standing with the Wisconsin Secretary of State. They offer a registered office and a registered agent’s address in Wisconsin that’s listed with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions as a legal point of contact available to receive service of process, mail, and legal documents on behalf of your LLC or corporation during business hours.

They also offer online document access so that you can access the service of process and legal documents of your LLC or corporation using their online system with an online account and email address, mail forwarding, and compliance filing alerts to remind you of important filing deadlines (like annual report filing) for your company.

They’re also a national registered agent, so they have a registered office in all 50 states, and they provide discounts when you sign up for registered agent service in multiple states or for multiple years.

Cons

They do offer a range of agent services, even if it’s not as great as Northwest Registered Agent’s service range. But the major drawback to Harbor Compliance’s Wisconsin registered agent service is that while they provide many good services, none of them are great

They provide a slew of basic Wisconsin registered agent services and tick all the boxes that a registered agent must, but they don’t provide any premium services (like identity theft insurance or covering state fees your company is charged when you change your Wisconsin registered agent service over to theirs), or any “extras.” And their customer service team can adequately answer questions regarding their Wisconsin registered agent service, their online system or your online account, but they aren’t as polite or comprehensive as Northwest Registered Agent’s team and they don’t answer business questions about your LLC, corporation, or other business entity.

So, while they provide many good services, they don’t excel in any service area.

Overall

Harbor Compliance provides all the basic registered agent services that your LLC or Corporation needs to meet the standards of the Wisconsin Secretary of State, and they do it for $99 per state, per year. They don’t provide any of the “extras” that Northwest Registered Agent does, and you won’t find any premium registered agent services here, however.

If you’re comfortable with a Wisconsin registered agent that has a lower-quality service offering than Northwest Registered Agent so that you can save your company $26, you can check out Harbor Compliance here

3. LegalZoom — 6.59/10 (Best Premium Service)

LegalZoom may be third on this list of the best Wisconsin registered agents, but if this were an article about the best premium Wisconsin registered agent, it would be at the top of the list.

Pros

LegalZoom is a well-known name in the business industry. They have a good reputation and people generally know they can trust that this company will provide the services they guarantee. LegalZoom has been in business for longer than my business, and because of its popularity and good reputation, it’s likely to be around for a long time. For all these reasons, many people feel that their company is a good choice for the Wisconsin registered agent service for their LLC or corporation, especially because they are a premium Wisconsin registered agent service.

They provide many of the services that your LLC or corporation needs from a Wisconsin registered agent, such as a physical address in the state registered and approved by the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions and a registered office where someone will be available to receive service of process, mail, and documents on behalf of your LLC or corporation during normal business hours.

They also offer online document access so that you can access the service of process and legal documents sent to your LLC or corporation 24/7 by logging onto their online system using an online account and email address, mail forwarding, and compliance filing alerts to remind you about important filing deadlines for your business entity in Wisconsin (like filing your annual report).

Additionally, they offer premium services, such as up to $1,000,000 in identity theft insurance, for your LLC or corporation and payment of any state fees your company incurs when you change from your current Wisconsin registered agent service over to theirs.

Identity theft insurance is a pretty attractive feature to many business owners because the business world is driven by technology these days.

Cons

LegalZoom seems to use the fact that it’s a popular, well-known company in the business industry to lure in new customers rather than providing top-quality Wisconsin registered agent services.

First of all, Wisconsin registered agent services aren’t their bread and butter. They mostly provide online legal services and templated legal documents for businesses. This means that their Wisconsin registered agent service is largely neglected. Their online system is clunky and hard to navigate, clearly something that has been overlooked. And their customer service team isn’t as knowledgeable about their Wisconsin registered agent service as one would like.

Second, they charge $299 per state, per year for their Wisconsin registered agent service. It’s easy to assume that this is because of their premium services. However, the difference between their fee and Northwest Registered Agent’s is $176 per state, per year. Identity theft protection from other companies doesn’t cost that much. There’s also no state filing fee in Wisconsin that high just for filing a form to change your registered agent service.

Overall

LegalZoom is the best choice if you want a Wisconsin registered agent that provides premium registered agent services. They’re also a good choice if you’re already using their other business services (templated legal documents for business and online legal services) and want to cut down on the number of bills your company has. However, they’re not the best Wisconsin registered agent service, and if you aren’t specifically looking for a premium registered agent service or already using their business services, then Northwest Registered Agent is the better choice for your LLC or corporation.

4. ZenBusiness

ZenBusiness is both an LLC formation service and registered agent service in Wisconsin. They provide all the services that a registered agent must provide an LLC or corporation, but they have a confusing fee system with an overpriced basic registered agent service.

For $199 per state, per year, this Wisconsin registered agent service will provide your LLC or business entity with a physical address in Wisconsin that is registered with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, someone in their registered office who is available to receive service of process, mail, and documents for your LLC or business entity during business hours, online document access so that you can access the documents and service of process sent to your company with an online account and email address, compliance filing alerts, and mail forwarding.

That's $74 more than what Northwest Registered Agent charges for similar services!

This system may be confusing because ZenBusiness primarily focuses on their LLC formation service, rather than their Wisconsin registered agent service. But there’s no excuse for the added expense.

To find out more visit ZenBusiness' website or read my in-depth ZenBusiness review.

5. IncFile

IncFile is a registered agent in Wisconsin that provides minimal registered agent service.

Of course, they provide the services that a Wisconsin registered agent must, like a registered office with an agent during normal business hours to receive service of process and state documents for your LLC or business entity, a business address in the state of Wisconsin listed with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, online access to the documents and service of process sent to your LLC or business entity requiring an online account and email address for access, and mail forwarding.

But they don’t offer any registered agent service “extras,” like compliance filing alerts or annual report reminders, or LLC formation services. If they’re going to charge your business in Wisconsin $119 per state, per year, they should step up their Wisconsin registered agent service game.

Find out more about IncFile's services in my full IncFile review.

6. Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer is a registered agent for service of process in Wisconsin whose Wisconsin registered agent service can be described as “a slightly cheaper imitation of LegalZoom, without the premium registered agent services.”

They provide all the services that your LLC or business entity must have, like an address in the state that’s been registered with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, someone who is available to receive service of process, mail, and documents on behalf of your company during business hours at their registered office, online access to the documents sent to your business entity with an online account and email address, and mail forwarding.

However, they charge an annual rate of $149 per state for their services, making them nearly $25 more expensive than Northwest Registered Agent, and lack their superior services, so Rocket Lawyer definitely isn’t the best registered agent in Wisconsin.

If you'd like to know about their online legal services and products, you can read all about them in my Rocket Lawyer review.

7. SunDoc Filings

SunDoc Filings is another registered agent in Wisconsin that seems to have no sense of value when it comes to the fees they charge for their services.

They provide your limited liability company or business entity with someone at their registered office who is available to receive mail and documents for your company during normal business hours, a Wisconsin street address that has been registered with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, online access to the documents sent to your company using their online portal, an online account and email address, and mail forwarding.

The problem is that they charge an annual rate of $159 per state for these minimal services, and you don’t even get compliance filing alerts or annual report reminders. Therefore, I certainly can’t recommend them as the best registered agent in Wisconsin.

8. InCorp

InCorp is a registered agent in Wisconsin that provided me with a unique conundrum when reviewing it. They charge an annual rate of $99 per state for their services, which is the same price that my choice for the best budget Wisconsin registered agent service (Harbor Compliance) charges. InCorp’s service offerings are similar to Harbor Compliance’s, as well.

If you choose InCorp as the registered agent for service of process for your business entity in Wisconsin, they provide your company with a street address in the state that has been registered with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, and someone who is available to receive mail and documents on behalf of your business entity during normal business hours at their registered office. They also provide online document access so that you can view the mail and documents sent to your company using their system, an online account and email address, mail forwarding, and compliance filing alerts (for things like filing the annual report for your business).

They are a national registered agent with an office in every state, and they offer discounts when you sign up for registered agent service for multiple states or for multiple years. They even offer identity theft insurance. So why on earth are they so far down my list of Wisconsin registered agents?

That would be because of their system. It’s such a clunky, glitchy nightmare to navigate that it’s sure to leave anyone in your office using the system a stress migraine. So I can’t recommend them as the best registered agent in Wisconsin.

Read about InCorp here.

9. Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings is another registered agent in Wisconsin that is charging too much for too little.

They offer the basic registered agent services that a Wisconsin registered agent must provide your business entity, like a street address in Wisconsin that is listed with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, receiving mail at their office on behalf of your business entity during business hours, online document access so that you can access the mail sent to your company 24/7 using an online account and your email address, and compliance filing alerts to remind you of important filing deadlines for your company (like the annual report).

However, they charge an annual rate of $149 per state for their services, and mail forwarding isn’t even included in that price. So if you’re looking for the best Wisconsin registered agent for your business in Wisconsin, you’re better off choosing Northwest Registered Agent.

If you're still interested in finding out more, read my full Swyft Filings review.

10. CSC Global

CSC Global is what I describe as a “premium” Wisconsin registered agent, and you’ll understand this if you keep reading.

They offer the registered agent services that you must have for your business in Wisconsin, like a business address in the state that is registered with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, receiving of mail on behalf of your business entity during regular business hours at their office, and online document access so that you can view the mail sent to your business on their system using your account and email address.

But the only premium service they provide is to cover any state fees that your business is charged when you change from your old registered agent service over to theirs. This is a problem because they charge $299 per state, per year for their Wisconsin registered agent service. That’s a difference of $176 between their service and Northwest Registered Agent’s, and not only is CSC Global’s service inferior to Northwest’s, but there is also no $176 filing fee in Wisconsin to change your registered agent service. So you could instead use Northwest Registered agent as the registered agent service for your Wisconsin business, pay the filing fee yourself, and save money.

11. Registered Agents Inc.

Registered Agents Inc. is another registered agent service in Wisconsin that confused me a bit. Among all the Wisconsin registered agents I reviewed, Registered Agents Inc. is the only one to specialize in registered agent service, which should mean they provide superior service.

For $200 per state, per year, they provide your business in Wisconsin with a business address in the state that is listed with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, someone who is available during regular business hours to receive mail for your business at their office, online document access so that you can access the mail sent to you using an online account and email address, and compliance filing alerts to let you know when it’s time to file the annual report for your business. And they’ll keep your name and address of the public record. They’re also a national registered agent with an office in each state, and they offer discounted rates if you sign up for registered agent service in multiple states.

The problem is their rate. None of their services seem to justify paying $200. So if you need a Wisconsin registered agent, you’re better off choosing Northwest Registered Agent

12. Jumpstart Filings

Jumpstart Filings is another registered agent service charging far too much for only the bare minimum service.

At a rate of $129 per state, per year, Jumpstart Filings' minimal service package does little to justify this price. Considering that you get higher quality service from Northwest Registered Agent and they’re $4 cheaper per year, don’t waste your time with Jumpstart Filings.

Registered Agent Review Summary

Of the 60+ registered agents and statutory agent services I investigated and the twelve registered agents I reviewed, my top recommendation for your business’s registered agent and statutory agent service is Northwest Registered Agent.

They provide every service your Wisconsin LLC or other business entity needs to remain in compliance with state laws and they’ll make staying in good standing with the Wisconsin Secretary of State a cakewalk.

Whether this is your first business or you’re an industry veteran, choose Northwest Registered Agent today.

Best Registered Agent Review Methodology

Investigating over 60 registered agents and statutory agent services was a lengthy and time-consuming process. I used a four-stage process to determine which of the 60+ services I investigated were the best and ranked the remaining contenders according to five factors.

Why You Should Trust Me

I’ve had more experience searching for registered agent services than anyone in the industry. It started when I had to use this process to find registered agents for the two businesses I own. When I needed to find a statutory agent or a registered agent for service of process, there weren’t any reliable guides or review articles like this available. I had to invest hundreds of hours into finding the right service.

I also didn’t want to deal with the hassles of government bureaucracy or the Wisconsin Secretary of State myself, so finding the right registered agent was critical to ensuring my businesses would be able to operate smoothly.

Since launching my website, I’ve helped thousands of people just like you find the best registered agent service for their business. Some of these people were close friends and family I’ve made over the course of my own business journey. My process has helped thousands of people save the hundreds of hours it took me to find the right registered agent, and I can help you and your business in Wisconsin too.

How I Selected the Best Registered Agent

The following four stages allowed me to determine which of the 60+ Wisconsin registered agent services were the best.

Stage 1: Reviews

My process began with reading online reviews for each registered agent. I spent hours on sites like Facebook, TrustPilot, Google, and the Better Business Bureau seeing what people had to say about each registered agent in Wisconsin. Even though these reviews were often quite polarized, it was important to see what some of the best and worst experiences were.

This stage of the process allowed me to eliminate nearly 50 registered agents engaging in an ethically dubious pricing strategy that I’ll detail below.

Reading online reviews allowed me to get an idea of what the highs and lows for each registered agent service were, but to see the whole picture I would have to dig deeper.

Stage 2: Website Analysis

After weeding out the bad deals and obvious scams, I was left with a rough version of the list you see in this article. The next step of my process was to log on to each registered agent’s website and review the sales pages, promotions, and “About Us” sections to see what services and deals were offered by each Wisconsin registered agent.

This stage of my investigation allowed me to form a 13-row, 24-column spreadsheet that helped me break down each of the 12 remaining registered agent services into their most basic service offerings.

Stage 3: Speaking with Real Customers

After reviewing their websites and reading the reviews, the next stage of the process was to reach out to other customers of each Wisconsin registered agent.

As previously mentioned, the online reviews tend to describe only the most extreme experiences. To find out what the average customer’s experience is like, I had to reach out to other customers I knew had used the services on my list.

I did this by contacting many of the people I had previously helped find a registered agent for their business. I asked them how well each company delivered on their promised services, to describe the quality of their customer support, and how well they were satisfied as a customer.

This allowed me to see what the average customer’s experience was and allowed me to form a clearer and more well-rounded image of each registered agent service in Wisconsin.

Stage 4: Speaking with Their Sales Teams

The final stage was to speak with each Wisconsin registered agent service’s sales team.

Though they often give biased or one-sided information that exaggerates certain features, sales teams are an important source of information if you know the right questions. Seeing how well a sales team responds to feedback and criticism can often tell you more than asking a simple question.

I reached out to each sales team and relayed feedback or criticism I had found during earlier parts of my investigation and took note of how they responded. Some teams shifted blame onto others, failing to take accountability for their shortcomings, while others took the criticism in stride and sought to improve my experience.

This stage allowed me to get an idea of what each registered agent service’s company culture was like and let me know which registered agents valued improvement.

Rating Factors

After narrowing the list down from over 60 to just the top 12, I ranked the best Wisconsin registered agent for your Wisconsin LLC according to the following five factors:

Factor 1: Offerings

The number of services and products available on the market today can be staggering, and that’s no exception when it comes to registered agent services. This is why services offered are such a vital factor when ranking which registered agent service in Wisconsin is the best.

Some services barely do more than act as your legal point of contact. Others offer compliance alerts and document scanning. And others still will provide identity theft insurance as part of their services. Others even offer cheap LLC formation services on the side. With so many offerings available, you can see why this is an important factor to consider when ranking each Wisconsin registered agent.

My spreadsheet allowed me to compare which registered agents offered the most, and which offered the least. Better quality offerings earned higher rankings.

Factor 2: Value for Money

The range of service offered isn’t the only factor I had to consider when ranking each Wisconsin registered agent. I also had to consider the value each registered agent gave for the services they offered.

Some registered agents charged rates as high as $299 per year but only offered the basic service you should expect from a registered agent, while others advertised prices as low as $39 per year but left the range of services offered vague and unclear.

During my investigations, I discovered a large number of Wisconsin registered agents charging prices in the $39–$59 per year range. While this price proved to be true at the point of entry, these services hid even the most essential services a registered agent must provide behind additional fees and charges. With this dishonest pricing model, it costs up to $120 per year to get the minimum level of service.

I swiftly removed any Wisconsin registered agent that used this pricing practice from my list.

Factor 3: Ease of Sign-up

Good deals are a plus, but a confusing sign-up process can turn even the best deal sour.

Lengthy or confusing sign-ups are the last thing anyone wants, so this was another one of my five rating factors.

To help you avoid the most confusing and frustrating sign-ups, I ranked each service according to how many forms I had to fill out, and technical issues encountered, and how complicated or confusing the process was. Companies that dragged the process out to unnecessary lengths or had technical issues plaguing their systems were ranked lower than those with simple and easy sign-ups.

Factor 4: Ease Of Use

Even if the sign-up process was easy, a poorly designed and user-unfriendly system can drive people away from a good deal.

A poorly designed or glitchy system can make you want to launch your computer into orbit, so I examined each of the twelve best registered agents systems and took note of how many technical issues I encountered and how user-friendly they were.

The more user-friendly systems with intuitive navigation ranked closer to the top of the list.

Factor 5: Customer Service

The real deal-breaker for most customers is a company’s customer support team, and this was no exception with registered agents.

A bad customer service team can often leave you feeling stuck and your questions unanswered, or even create additional problems. A good customer service team answers your questions quickly and politely. The best customer service team is able to help you with almost any obstacle you encounter on your business adventure.

To find out how effective each registered agent’s customer support teams were, I called each one and hit them with a round of fairly standard questions and took note of how prompt and efficiently they were able to answer my questions and resolve my issues.

Teams with higher quality and more efficient customer service were ranked higher than the ones that left me scratching my head.

The Best Wisconsin Registered Agent Results Summary

After investigating 60+ Wisconsin registered agents and reviewing the top 12, these are my top 3 picks for the best registered agents in the state of Wisconsin.

Best Overall Registered Agent — Northwest Registered Agent (9.13/10)

Northwest Registered Agent is the top choice for your Wisconsin business.

Not only do they provide you with a registered address in Wisconsin and act as your legal point of contact, but they also go above and beyond to provide you with every service you’ll need to help your business succeed. And they only charge $125 per state, per year.

In addition to registering their name and address to keep your personal information safe, Northwest Registered Agent offers same-day scanning and uploading of all your mail and documents (not just the important documents) they receive on your behalf. They also offer a database and an account for you to access these documents anytime and compliance alerts so you never miss a filing date.

On top of those excellent services, Northwest Registered Agent also offers a phenomenal customer support team of US-based former lawyers, accounts, small business owners, and entrepreneurs available to give you expert-level advice whenever you need it.

With over 3,000 positive Northwest Registered Agent reviews, it’s clear that my experience isn’t just a coincidence.

Best Budget Registered Agent — Harbor Compliance (7.92/10)

If you’re working with a tight budget and need to save $26 per year on a registered agent, choose Harbor Compliance, the best registered agent in that price range.

For their rate of $99 per year, Harbor Compliance will scan all your documents and act as your legal point of contact. They also include a compliance alert system similar to Northwest Registered Agent. Though their services aren’t as high quality as those offered by Northwest, they are still decent and cover the minimum level of service your business needs.

Harbor Compliance’s customer service team offers decent support, but they are hardly the business experts at Northwest Registered Agent.

There's a lot more to Harbor Compliance's service than I tell you about here. Read my full Harbor Compliance review for more details on their service and offerings.

If you need to save money and are okay with exchanging quality for a lower cost, then check out Harbor Compliance today.

Best Premium Registered Agent — Legal Zoom (6.59/10)

If you’re in the market for a premium registered agent service and okay with spending the extra money, then LegalZoom is my top choice for a premium Wisconsin registered agent.

LegalZoom offers the essentials when it comes to a registered agent service. They’ll provide your business with a registered physical address in Wisconsin, receive service of process on your behalf, and scan all your important documents. LegalZoom also provides online legal services, but those require a separate subscription.

The main reason many choose LegalZoom is their identity theft protection. LegalZoom offers a $1,000,000 identity theft insurance policy with their registered agent service and charges a whopping $299 per state, per year for registered agent services. Considering that you can often find identity theft insurance at rates lower than the $176 price difference between LegalZoom and Northwest Registered Agent, it may be worthwhile to consider other options.

If you need identity theft insurance included with your registered agent or are already subscribed to their other services, consider LegalZoom for your Wisconsin business today.

In Conclusion

Finding the right registered agent for your Wisconsin business is essential to ensuring your business succeeds and your information stays secure.

To help you find the best Wisconsin registered agent for your business, I investigated and reviewed over 60 different registered agent services and reviewed and ranked the 12 best according to a four-stage, five-factor process.

This investigation drew me to a single conclusion.

Northwest Registered Agent is the best choice overall for your Wisconsin business. Not only do they provide the most value and the widest range of services, but they also offer you the single best customer service team I’ve ever encountered.

This team of US-based former lawyers, accountants, and small business owners are available 24/7 to provide you with expert-level advice and support for almost any business situation you could encounter.

Included in their yearly price of $125 are the following registered agent services:

  • A registered physical address in Wisconsin and a legal point of contact to receive service of process and other important documents from the Wisconsin Secretary of State and the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions
  • Scanning and uploading all your mail and important legal documents the day they are received
  • A database to access those documents whenever you need them
  • Compliance alerts to ensure you never miss an important filing date
  • Mail forwarding

All these services and more and accessing them through their online system is incredibly simple and intuitive.

At a bargain rate of $125 per state, per year, Northwest Registered Agent is the best overall recommendation I can give your Wisconsin business entity.
