To start a business in Kansas, you must first find a good LLC formation service to help you with the business formation process.

The right LLC service will help you submit your articles of organization to the Kansas Secretary of State and will notify you of upcoming compliance dates, such as filing your annual report.

The wrong LLC service will cause your business registration to be delayed and may scam you out of your money while providing subpar services.

With this in mind, I’ve compiled a list of the 10 best LLC services in Kansas and ranked them to help you choose. If you are just getting started in the business world or looking for an update on the latest LLC service providers, then look no further.

Let’s dive right into it!

1. Northwest Registered Agent: 9.45/10 (Best Overall LLC Service)

Northwest Registered Agent is the best LLC service in Kansas. Its formation package provides a wide range of services at a low cost. It also has the best customer service in the LLC service industry.

Pros

Northwest's formation package includes assistance with filing your articles of organization with the Kansas Secretary of State and drafting your operating agreement. It also provides a free three-month trial of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service, and a free year of Kansas registered agent service.

This package also includes compliance notifications that remind you when important filings are due, a business tax consultation with their in-house accounting team, and a business name and address.

Northwest also provides more extensive services for purchase as necessary. These services include a Certificate of Good Standing, help in obtaining an employer identification number if you plan to hire employees, and access to state-certified copies of your formation paperwork.

Its formation package is normally $225, but BoostSuite readers can save 82% by clicking on my special link to Northwest's sign-up page. This reduces the price to $39, making Northwest Registered Agent the most affordable LLC service on this list.

Northwest's most notable asset has to be its customer service. While most businesses have followed the trend of outsourcing support services to call centers in foreign countries staffed by people who don’t fully understand the American way of doing business, Northwest Registered Agent doesn’t do that.

Instead, it has a team of highly experienced Corporate Guides composed of former accountants, lawyers, and entrepreneurs who are well versed in the process of starting and running an LLC in Kansas.

They not only assist you with the formation of your firm, but they also go above and beyond to give industry-leading small business advice that will be useful when managing your business entity in Kansas.

Cons

One disadvantage of Northwest's services is that it doesn’t offer any services to help your Kansas LLC develop an online presence, such as a personalized business website, email hosting, or domain name registration.

However, this is not a huge issue because these services are available from a variety of websites, including Squarespace and Wix.

Overall

Northwest Registered Agent is the best LLC formation service in Kansas. Its $39 formation package includes all services required to create your limited liability company, plus its highly experienced Corporate Guides provide top-notch small business advice to help you manage your Kansas LLC.

If you’re looking for an economical and dependable business formation service with excellent customer service, contact Northwest Registered Agent now and receive an 82% discount on its formation package.

2. ZenBusiness: 8.25/10 (Best Essentials LLC Service)

Most of the other companies on my list can’t compete with ZenBusiness’ $0 (plus state fees) price. But you’ll ultimately pay a lot more than that to make up for the services that this plan lacks.

Pros

ZenBusiness’s $0 is the biggest thing it has going for it. It will cover the minimum LLC services you need: running a business name availability search, helping you fill out your formation documents, and filing your paperwork with the Secretary of State.

With its Pro plan for $199, it will help you create an operating agreement and provide expedited filing (four to six days).

And with its Premium plan for $299 it will provide you with a handful of tools necessary to create an online presence for your company, like a domain name, email address, and website building tool. It also features rush filing (as little as one to two days).

Cons

ZenBusiness sufficiently covers the absolute minimum when it comes to LLC services. But since you’ll likely need more than it has to offer, it’s going to cost you more than the advertised $0 in the long run.

Registered agent service is a must for any LLC, which is why the free year of registered agent service promotion is such a big deal. But ZenBusiness doesn’t offer such a promotion. As a matter of fact, the only plan that offers registered agent service will set you back $199 per year.

You’ll get the commonplace LLC service customer service experience from ZenBusiness, which means they’ll efficiently tackle your technical issues and walk you through password changes. But you can’t expect them to be able to give you advice on how to handle your backend operations.

Overall

For just $0 (plus state fees) ZenBusiness can help you file your paperwork and get your LLC legally established. It won’t do anything beyond that though, so if you need registered agent service (which you’re all but guaranteed to need), or want the added guidance of small business advice, expect to shell out a bit more than nothing.

If you’re looking for an LLC service that can effectively establish your LLC for less, check out ZenBusiness’ website

3. Harbor Compliance: 7.15/10 (Best Premium LLC Service)

Harbor Compliance is the best premium LLC formation service in Kansas because they provide quality services and personalized customer support.

Pros

Harbor Compliance provides all the basic services you need to set up your Kansas LLC, including help preparing and filing your articles of organization, a business name and address in Kansas, an operating agreement template, assistance with applying for an EIN, and a free year of Kansas registered agent service (valued at $99/year).

However, its standout asset is its customer service. Instead of contacting a customer service hotline or sending an anonymous email, Harbor Compliance links you with a dedicated account representative who understands your concerns and offers service-related counsel tailored to your specific circumstance.

Cons

The major issue with Harbor Compliance is its pricing. Its basic formation package is $399, while its Compliance package costs $799. This makes them more than eight times the price of Northwest Registered Agent. Also, its dedicated account manager does not provide the small business advice that Northwest’s Corporate Guides are famous for. Its assistance is purely service related.

Overall

Harbor Compliance provides quality premium services, as well as dependable customer assistance. Visit Harbor Compliance today if you are prepared to spend $399 for a dedicated account manager who will take you through your LLC formation process.

4. Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer is a legal services provider that also provides essential LLC formation services. Its LLC formation services are available in conjunction with other essential online legal services.

As part of its $99.99 plan, and in addition to the basics provided by most LLC formation services, Rocket Lawyer provides a free 30-minute legal consultation on all new legal matters with a single click or phone call. They’ll also provide access to a massive library of quick and easy-to-use legal documents, and you can have your official documents reviewed by a lawyer.

Its customer service department is staffed by highly qualified lawyers who’ll answer all your questions in a calm and polite manner.

However, Rocket Lawyer's $99 LLC formation package does not include many extensive services. It doesn’t provide a year of free registered agent service, EIN access, or phone service. Rocket Lawyer is also one of the more costly formation services because it is primarily targeted at people who require continuous legal assistance.

If you require regular legal assistance and services after forming a Kansas LLC, Rocket Lawyer is worth a shot.

5. Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings, which began in 2012, is a relatively new LLC formation service. It provides a $49 basic package that includes services such as an online portal for storing critical data, help with filing your articles of organization, a 30-minute small business tax advice session, and a free year of business domain name registration.

Swyft Filings does not provide a year of free registered agent service in Kansas. You’ll have to spend $149 each year for its registered agent service. Swyft Filings is sixth on my list since it is significantly more costly than Northwest.

It is, nonetheless, a renowned organization that provides dependable services. Read my Swyft Filings review for additional information.

6. MyCompanyWorks

MyCompanyWorks' basic package is $79. This service includes help drafting your articles of organization, compliance notifications, and online access to your most crucial papers.

Another significant feature is that it has a 4.9/5 average rating out of 3,500 internet evaluations.

Its main disadvantage is that its basic package does not include a free year of Kansas registered agent service. You'll need to upgrade to its $279 “premium” package for that. Considering that Northwest Registered Agent includes a free year of Kansas registered agent services in its $39 package, MyCompanyWorks doesn't seem like a great deal.

7. Inc Authority

Inc Authority seems to market itself as a “low-cost” LLC service, but upon closer inspection, it is anything but.

It charges $0 to file the articles of organization with the Kansas Secretary of State, just like ZenBusiness, but if you require other services, such as an operating agreement template or an EIN, you must purchase its $399 basic package. Its $799 premium package is the only way to get a free year of Kansas registered agent service. At that price you’re better off being your own registered agent.

If all you want is to file your formation paperwork, you're better suited using ZenBusiness at this price point.

8. Incorporate Fast

The $99 basic package from Incorporate Fast includes assistance with filing your formation documents, preparing your Kansas business operating agreement, and example documents you may need to establish your LLC in Kansas.

It also offers a $199 bundle that includes an EIN but excludes a business tax assessment and an online document storage portal.

The best part of Incorporate Fast is that it processes new Kansas business files the same day it receives them, which is ideal if you need to create a business in Kansas quickly and are ready to pay a premium for the service.

9. BizFilings

Like Incorporate Fast, BizFilings charges $99 for its basic package. This package includes assistance with submitting your formation paperwork, a free year of registered agent service in Kansas, and compliance alerts.

The package does not include an online document storage portal, assistance with the preparation of your operating agreement, or a business tax assessment.

10. LegalZoom

Another Kansas LLC service company that charges $99 for LLC services is LegalZoom. The only services it offers are assistance with completing your formation paperwork and a banking resolution.

If you need legal assistance for yourself or your LLC in Kansas, you should consider Rocket Lawyer's services.

Other Kansas LLC Services

I examined the following 7 Kansas LLC service companies, but their services are not as good as the preceding 10 LLC formation services and do not merit a complete evaluation. Nonetheless, they are worth mentioning.

11. Incorporate.com

Incorporate.com follows the practice of charging $99 plus state fees for a basic subscription that provides relatively few services. Its sole services include an online document storage portal and help with your articles of organization.

12. CorpNet

Corpnet's $79 (plus state fees) basic plan only includes assistance with your articles of organization and compliance notifications to ensure you don't miss any filing deadlines.

13. MyCorporation

MyCorporation charges $133 plus state fees for business formation services, which include preparing your operating agreement and submitting your articles of organization.

14. Direct Incorporation

Direct Incorporation offers the same services as MyCorporation, but it also offers a banking resolution and help with obtaining an EIN. It does, however, charge $147 plus state fees for its services.

15. InCorp

For $117 plus state fees, InCorp can submit your articles of organization and help you with your operating agreement. Any more comprehensive service may entail additional charges.

16. Nationwide Incorporations

Nationwide Incorporations costs the same fee as InCorp: $200.

17. SunDoc Filings

The $79 basic package from SunDoc Filings assists you in submitting your formation paperwork. Its $99 Key bundle supports you in creating an operating agreement, while its $279 Premier package assists you in obtaining an EIN.

Best LLC Service Review Methodology

This is the process I used to find the best LLC formation services in Kansas.

Why You Should Trust Me

You should put your faith in me when it comes to LLC formation services because I have more expertise in this field than anybody I know.

My adventure began when I chose to open my first business entity in Kansas. I didn't know how to file my articles of organization properly, so I chose to use a business formation service. My first encounter with an LLC service provider was not as positive as I had hoped. Their services were pricey and disappointing.

For my second business project, I opted to use Northwest Registered Agent's services, and the procedure was a lot shorter and simpler than my prior attempt. Their Corporate Guides assisted me anytime I faced difficulties during my business formation process.

When I had enough money to establish my third business entity in Kansas, I considered using a premium LLC service provider, and this time I chose Harbor Compliance because I wanted to take advantage of their premium services and personalized customer support service.

My experience with LLC creation services doesn’t end there. While considering my third business endeavor, I spoke with my entrepreneur friends about their experiences during the business establishment process and they all agreed on one key element—there’s a lot of business advice floating around and the challenge is determining who to believe.

This is what inspired me to create BoostSuite, and since then I've helped over 1,000 business owners choose the best LLC formation service to help them get started in the business world.

How I Selected the Best LLC Service

To determine which is the best LLC formation service in Kansas, I applied the four-step approach outlined below.

Stage 1: Reviews

The first step was to check out customer reviews for each and every LLC formation service in Kansas on major business review websites, such as TrustPilot, Google Business, Facebook, and the Better Business Bureau.

This enabled me to distinguish between genuine services and those that were frauds or provided subpar services. But overwhelming positive customer reviews can be misleading, so I had to dig deeper.

Stage 2: Website Analysis

After eliminating the fraudulent services, I decided to analyze the websites of the remaining service providers in order to better comprehend their claims and assertions.

This assisted me in evaluating the services they provided and how they positioned themselves in the LLC formation service sector.

Stage 3: Speaking With Real Customers

The next step was to consult actual business owners to see whether these business service providers lived up to their claims. Granted, I could have accomplished this through my analysis of online customer reviews, but those tend to be slanted toward positive or negative extremes.

I contacted acquaintances who had used LLC formation services, as well as visitors to my website, to inquire about their experiences with these firms. This procedure helped me understand what it was like to use each service provider.

Stage 4: Speaking With Sales Teams

The fourth stage was to contact every sales and support department of these business service providers and press them for answers, particularly on the criticism that their customers had heaped on them.

This helped me learn how each organization handled criticism and negative feedback.

Rating Factors

I ranked each business service provider through five different factors.

Factor 1: Offerings

The first consideration was the type of services provided by each business service provider.

Some service providers offer restricted services as part of their packages and then charge you for additional services. Others, such as Northwest Registered Agent, provide a comprehensive set of services in their basic packages, including the best-registered agent service money can buy.

Because of the gap in services, I had to begin my analysis here.

Factor 2: Price

The cost of services was the second factor I considered. Some businesses charge nothing for their most basic service, while others deny service until you pay $399.

This disparity in service costs enabled me to distinguish between services that provided good value for money and those that provided premium offers and rates.

Factor 3: Ease of Sign-Up

My third consideration in my study was how simple it was to sign up for services.

This involved creating accounts with each business service provider on this list. Some services have archaic legacy systems that appear to have been developed in the 1990s, but others have sleek, straightforward, and user-friendly systems that saved me a lot of time and energy.

Using this method, I was able to identify which company required the least amount of time and effort to sign up.

Factor 4: Ease of Use

The fourth factor in the review process was the design and functionality of the websites.

Some of the issues I ran into throughout the sign-up process seemed to permeate through to other elements of the user experience. For example, some services simply gave blank forms, which required filling out multiple areas despite having provided the same information during the sign-up process.

Others had pre-completed forms with the required data filled in, and in some situations, all that was required was a signature.

Factor 5: Customer Service

The final factor I used to evaluate each company was the quality of their customer care services.

Some companies outsource their support services to call centers in other countries, while others keep them in house, such as Northwest Registered Agent, whose US-based customer support department is staffed with former accountants, former lawyers, small business owners, and entrepreneurs who have a wealth of knowledge about how to start and run a Kansas business.

My fifth and final rating factor was the significant disparity in the quality of customer support services.

In Conclusion

Following my four-stage, five-factor evaluation of the top 10 business formation services, I found that Northwest Registered Agent is the best business service provider in Kansas.

Its $39 basic package includes all the services you need to set up a business entity while providing the best value for money. These services include help with filing your articles of organization, an online document storage portal, a draft operating agreement template, a free 90-day trial of VoIP service, a business tax consultation with its in-house chartered accountants, and a year of free Kansas registered agent services.

Northwest’s Corporate Guides are available every weekday during normal business hours to offer industry-leading business advice and help anytime you face problems on your business journey.

If you are ready to start your business in Kansas, go over to Northwest Registered Agent immediately and take advantage of an 82% discount on its LLC formation package.
