The 10 Best LLC Services in New Mexico: Reviewed and Ranked

28/03/2024

Starting a business and forming an LLC in New Mexico can be tricky, but finding the best limited liability company (LLC) formation service for your business can be even trickier.

The right LLC service will start you off on the right foot, helping you file the necessary paperwork to build a successful New Mexico company from the ground up.

The wrong LLC service will start you off on the wrong foot, bungle your paperwork, and delay the launch of your business.

I compiled a list of the top New Mexico LLC formation services and used my four-stage, five-factor process to rank them from best to worst. Check it out:

1. Northwest Registered Agent: 9.45/10 (Best Overall LLC Service)

Northwest Registered Agent is the #1 LLC formation service in New Mexico because it provides everything you need to start your business, including top-of-the-line business advice, at the lowest available price.

Pros

Northwest Registered Agent helps you file your articles of organization with the New Mexico Secretary of State and draft your operating agreement.

It also helps with other aspects of forming an LLC in New Mexico by sending compliance alerts, providing an online platform for managing your documents, and acting as your registered agent in New Mexico for free for the first year.

But what really makes Northwest Registered Agent stand out? Its superior customer support.

Northwest’s US-based Corporate Guides are made up of former lawyers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners who have experience in forming and running an LLC, and they use that experience to guide you through your business challenges.

This type of support can cost up to $5,000 per day, but with Northwest Registered Agent, it’s included in your basic formation package subscription.

Northwest Registered Agent usually charges $225 for its LLC formation service but is offering an exclusive deal for BoostSuite readers. If you sign up through BoostSuite you’ll get an 82% discount and pay only $39. That’s a $225 value for only $39. You can’t beat it with any other provider.

Cons

Into every life a little rain must fall.

Northwest does not offer web service. With some providers you can get domain registration, web hosting, Google advertising, and even website building. Of course, these services aren’t as expensive as they once were. New businesses get $150 worth of Google advertising credits and you can build a website for as little as $15 per year.

Overall

Northwest Registered Agent is the best for LLC formation in New Mexico. It covers everything you need to get your business off the ground, including incomparable business advice from industry experts.

With Northwest, your paperwork will be filed properly and your important LLC questions will be answered. If you’re forming a New Mexico LLC and want comprehensive service from trusted advisors, sign up with Northwest Registered Agent today and enjoy an 82% discount on its formation package.

2. ZenBusiness: 8.25/10 (Best Essentials LLC Service)

ZenBusiness charges the best price on the market for its LLC services: $0. But because it doesn’t provide small business advice or free registered agent service, it will ultimately cost you more than that.

Pros

ZenBusiness supplies all of the essentials for as low as $0, plus filing fee. With its lowest pricing tier, it will make sure the information listed on your documents is correct, ensure that your business name is available, and file your formation paperwork with the proper authorities.

Its Pro plan for $199 includes expedited filing (four to six days), and assistance with your operating agreement while its Premium plan for $299 includes rush filing (as little as one to two days) as well as a tool to build your website, domain name, and email address.

Another added bonus is that its customer service team has extended hours on weekdays—Sundays, too!

Cons

While ZenBusiness will cover all of the essentials to get your LLC established, if you need anything more it will cost you.

ZenBusiness doesn’t offer free registered agent service but instead charges $199 per year for it. If you need registered agent service, you’ll have no choice but to pay the full price for it the first year if you go with ZenBusiness.

Also, though its customer service team is available during extended hours to help you with password resets and questions about the formation process, it doesn’t provide small business advice or legal advice.

Overall

ZenBusiness will cover all the basics and get your LLC up and running. It will not only make sure that the information on your documents is correct and file them, but its customer service team is available during extended hours to help you and answer your questions as well.

You’re going to pay more if you need registered agent service, but its worry-free compliance and 100% accuracy guarantee will give you peace of mind.

3. Harbor Compliance: 7.15/10 (Best Premium LLC Service)

Harbor Compliance charges a hefty price for its New Mexico LLC service, but it’s the only company to provide personal customer-support representatives.

Pros

If you’re starting an LLC in New Mexico, there are worse options than this one. Harbor Compliance files your articles of organization with the Secretary of State, provides a free LLC operating agreement template, gets you an (EIN), and gives you a free year of registered agent services.

What makes Harbor Compliance worth the price is its customer support. When you jump on board with Harbor Compliance, you’ll be connected to a personal support representative who will assist you every step of the way. Should any questions or concerns come up during the process, your account manager is there to help.

With a lot of New Mexico LLC services, their customer support systems will connect you to random representatives. Not with Harbor Compliance. It allows you to speak to your assigned consultant directly.

Cons

Service like this comes at a price. Harbor Compliance’s formation package is $399 and its specialty Compliance package is $799. For that amount you could start an LLC in 10 states with Northwest.

Overall

Harbor Compliance doesn’t offer the best New Mexico LLC package available, but with its dedicated account manager, it’s a reasonable choice. You get all the basics for starting your LLC in New Mexico and the help you’ll need along the way.

Harbor Compliance is 10 times the cost of Northwest, but if that personal account manager seals the deal for you, check out the Harbor Compliance website

4. Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer will help you with your LLC formation process as well as providing top-level legal support through its team of highly qualified attorneys. When you purchase its $99.99 LLC formation service, you will receive a seven-day free trial of its legal services membership.

Rocket Lawyer will also file your articles of organization with the New Mexico Secretary of State. With Rocket Lawyer, you can also get your legal documents reviewed by a lawyer, legal representation in court if necessary, and a 30-minute consultation with a lawyer on any legal matter.

Rocket Lawyer's $99 LLC formation package does not include many extensive services. It does not provide a free year of resident agent service, EIN access, or phone service. This might be due to its continuous emphasis on online legal services. It’s also one of the costliest New Mexico LLC services on this list.

Rocket Lawyer is a great alternative if you want ongoing legal assistance and services after incorporating a New Mexico LLC. If you need more comprehensive formation services, Northwest offers a $39 package that includes a wide range of necessary LLC services.

5. Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings has a basic package that costs $49. It started forming LLCs in 2012 and, for the price, offers a near full list of services.

Swyft Filings will complete your formation paperwork, let you track the process online, and provide a free 30-minute consultation with its in-house accountants. You also receive a business domain registration.

The reason it’s not higher on the list, though, is that it doesn't offer registered agent service for free.

Given that Swyft Filings charges $149 for its service, it ends up being almost four times the cost of Northwest

6. MyCompanyWorks

MyCompanyWorks is similar to Swyft Filings.

Its basic package gives you just about everything you need to get started and costs $79. Should you decide you want registered agent service, as well, that’s included in its premium package, which goes for $279.

Given that you already receive these deals in the Northwest starter plan for $39, give MyCompanyWorks a hard pass.

7. Inc Authority

Out of all the companies on this list, Inc Authority has the most deceptive pricing strategy.

It will file your articles of organization for you for $0, but if you need anything beyond that, such as an EIN or company seal, you have to upgrade to its basic package, which is $399. Then, if you decide you want registered agent service, that’s in the $799 premium package!

There are really no savings with Inc Authority.

Like I mentioned above, if you just need your articles of organization filed for free, go with ZenBusiness. For any other services, Northwest is still your best bet to form an LLC in New Mexico.

8. Incorporate Fast

The word “fast” is what gives Incorporate Fast an advantage over the other New Mexico LLC providers. It guarantees that when you sign up for its $99 package, Incorporate Fast will file your articles of organization with the New Mexico Secretary of State the same day it’s received.

Its basic package is acceptable considering you get assistance with your operating agreement, a free year of registered agent service, assistance with applying for an employer identification number, and access to legal documents you may need.

Despite this, it’s still more expensive than Northwest and lacks free tax consultation and online storage.

9. BizFilings

Right off the bat, Bizfilings is more than double the price of Northwest. It will file your formation paperwork and give you a free year of registered agent service, but that is as good as it gets with BizFilings.

It offers no online storage or operating agreement template. Not even a business tax assessment. There isn’t much to get excited about with this New Mexico LLC service.

10. LegalZoom

LegalZoom specializes in online legal services but also offers an LLC service. The most it will do for you, though, is file your articles of organization with the Secretary of State and give you a banking resolution for $99. After that it doesn't have much to offer.

Other New Mexico LLC Services

On top of the 10 companies listed above, there are a few others. For the most part they are forgettable and don’t compare to the top 10, but I still wanted to give them a mention.

11. Incorporate.com

Incorporate.com falls into the same category as Rocket Lawyer and LegalZoom. The only difference is that it doesn't use the excuse of being a side service. This one really isn’t worth your time.

12. CorpNet

CorpNet charges $108 to file your initial paperwork and send compliance alerts, but nothing else.

13. MyCorporation

MyCorporation charges $133 for filing your articles of organization and drafting your operating agreement.

Take your money elsewhere, folks.

14. Direct Incorporation

Direct Incorporation provides an EIN and a banking resolution, but its price of $147 (plus filing fee) is far from enticing.

15. InCorp

For $117 plus filing fee, InCorp will help you file your articles of organization and your operating agreement. After that the prices go up. You can form a New Mexico LLC for much cheaper with Northwest

16. Nationwide Incorporations

Nationwide Incorporations will charge you $200 for the same low quality service as InCorp

17. SunDoc Filings

SunDoc Filings, for $79, will file your articles of organization. It offers a few extras but those only come from its $99 and $279 packages. Regardless of the package or the price, you won’t find a better deal than at Northwest. It gives you the quality and value that these other New Mexico LLC services don’t.

The Best LLC Service Review Summary

After evaluating multiple LLC services in New Mexico, Northwest consistently stood out from all the others.

Northwest provides all the elements you need to start an LLC in New Mexico at a BoostSuite-negotiated, exclusive price of only $39. No other New Mexico LLC service can compare with that. So, if you’re looking for a solid and affordable LLC service in the state of New Mexico that will take your business in the right direction, then reach out to Northwest today!

Best LLC Service Review Methodology

This is how I chose the best LLC service in New Mexico.

Why You Should Trust Me

I dove head first into the abyss and put a lot of time and effort into examining these LLC (limited liability company) services. You really want to do your homework when you start an LLC.

When I decided to roll up my sleeves and start my first company, it was not all sunshine and rainbows. My forms would get returned because they weren’t filled out properly and completing the articles of organization was a nightmare. To solve that problem, I just paid someone to do it.

I didn’t really think that part through though, and wound up wasting money and time with lackluster and overpriced services.

The second time I set up an LLC in New Mexico was much easier. The main reason being that Northwest was able to get me through the process at lightning speed and didn’t break the bank.

Luckily, on the third go around, I had start-up funds to switch to Harbor Compliance. Once there, I was able to get first-hand experience with its personal account manager.

My experience goes beyond just using these services though. I eventually sold off my second business and was on the prowl for new business opportunities. As I started talking with my entrepreneur friends about what obstacles they have had to overcome with their businesses, I began to notice a trend. With all the advice that’s out there for small businesses, most of it is useless and adds up to a whole lot of nothing.

That’s when I came up with the idea to start BoostSuite. It has helped more than 1,000 entrepreneurs find the right business model to get their own business off the ground.

How I Selected the Best LLC Service

I used a four-stage process to choose the best New Mexico LLC (limited liability company) service.

Stage 1: Reviews

The first stage involved a lot of research of online reviews for the top 50 LLC (limited liability company) service companies in New Mexico.

Night after night, I went through sites like the Better Business Bureau, Google, and Facebook to determine which New Mexico business formation services were legit and which were scams.

Stage 2: Website Analysis

Once I narrowed down the list of which New Mexico LLC services were reputable and which ones to steer clear of, I started to check their websites and see exactly what they had to offer.

I really dove in to find out what products and services were available through these New Mexico LLC formation companies. I used pricing pages and detailed breakdowns to determine who offered what and at what price.

Stage 3: Speaking With Actual Customers

Online reviews can only tell you so much. To get a better understanding of how these New Mexico companies operate, you must talk to someone who has first-hand knowledge, starting with the customer.

I questioned customers whom I’ve provided recommendations to over the years and who have a history with these services to get their feedback. I asked them whether the system was easy to use, how effective their customer support system was, and how quickly they processed applications.

Stage 4: Speaking With Their Sales Teams

The last stage in this process was speaking to their sales teams to learn what techniques they use to push New Mexico customers into buying their services.

My approach was to go along with their spiels and act like a rookie to see if I was getting duped or not.

I then posed questions and problems to them that I had observed through online feedback to see how they deal with criticism and if they use feedback to optimize their services.

Rating Factors

Breaking down what these New Mexico services brought to the table, I based the quality on these five factors:

Factor 1: Offerings

I’m sure after reading through this material you have realized there are a lot of steps in starting an LLC in New Mexico. Things like filing your initial formation documents with the New Mexico Secretary of State, applying for an employer identification number, drafting an operating agreement, creating bank accounts, and working with an agent in New Mexico so you have an address in the state are fundamental elements of starting an LLC.

When it comes to registered agent service, get a good one—it’s a big part of your business. The registered agent must stay on top of issues with the business. It needs to make sure your LLC is in good standing with the state of New Mexico. So, choose wisely when you fill this position.

Look at the products and services that these New Mexico LLC services offer. This will help you decide which one you want to spend your money on.

When it came to choosing the best New Mexico LLC service, I moved the companies that use their brand names as a way to attract customers toward the bottom. Then, those that were actually trying to help their customers and solve any problems they had ranked towards the top.

Factor 2: Price

The second factor in evaluating each New Mexico LLC (limited liability company) service was price. LLC packages range from $0 to $399 or more.

Cost weighed against the variety and quality of available LLC services was the next important factor to consider in choosing the best company to help you form your New Mexico LLC.

Factor 3: Ease of Sign-Up

A crucial part of picking the right New Mexico LLC service is how easy it is for you to sign up with it. It may offer a tremendous product and service, but if signing up with it proves to be a massive headache then you should probably look elsewhere.

I signed up for each of these New Mexico formation services to see what the process entailed. Should you find signing up with an LLC service more difficult than you prefer, then what it offers and its value are likely not worth the hassle.

Factor 4: Ease of Use

A New Mexico LLC service that offers a variety of products at a fair price is definitely worth signing up with, but if it makes you jump through hoops with sketchy software and having to complete form after form with no end in sight, then you might want to look elsewhere.

A form that comes with the essential information already filled in will save you time, but blank and difficult forms will add more stress to the already complicated process of building an LLC from the ground up.

When you’re starting an LLC you don’t have time to waste with an incomprehensible system. I assessed the sign-up systems of each company to determine which was the most intuitive.

Factor 5: Customer Service

A lot of these LLC companies handle their customer support through unaffiliated call centers with representatives that know little-to-nothing about starting an LLC in New Mexico. Others, like Northwest, employ US-based experts in the field.

I wanted to put each LLC provider’s customer support to the test, so I called them to ask for basic information, emailed them little requests, and even used their online chat portals to hammer them with complex LLC questions and complaints.

This process helped me determine who had the most professional and responsive customer service.

In Conclusion

If you’re starting an LLC, Northwest Registered Agent is my #1 recommendation to help you do it.

For a small fee of $39, Northwest will lay the foundation for your LLC. Its formation package provides all the fundamentals, including your initial paperwork filing, an online document portal, and a free year of registered agent service to help you maintain your LLC. Northwest can also help you apply for an EIN.

With Northwest Registered Agent’s expert team of Corporate Guides, your New Mexico LLC will never miss a beat. Made up of former accountants, lawyers, and small business owners, the Corporate Guides will help you meet any potential challenge your LLC could face.
