*The living costs were calculated based on one adult splitting the cost of renting an average 2 bedroom apartment in each city (as determined by Zumper) while consuming 2,400 calories per day of supermarket staples, as specified by Numbeo. Utilities were calculated by using average cell phone costs, average broadband costs, and government data on water consumption, electricity prices and consumption, and gas prices and consumption.
